Yeah. They were a real top notch company. They are the ones who hit the bridge in Akron.

Lol! I didn’t say I wanted one. But if I was going to have a romantic encounter with a Connecticut trucker that would be my pick.

IH9300SBA, Oxbow and Magoo1968 Thank this.

Would not be a bad deal to drive this little guy. I know the Peterbilt guys hate it. Ha Ha. I would for sure run it no problem.

They would get more points if they hadn’t hooked it to a pos Kaufman trailer.

Oxbow, IH Truck Guy and Siinman Thank this.

You can stack the resale values too.

Or at least you could. Since about this time last year the price difference up front for a 579 vs a 389 new with similar specs is around 40k with the 579 being cheaper. They can also get one out faster than a 389. But 2021 and earlier the price difference was maybe 10k on the high end up front.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

The best I’ve seen a 579 do in comparable work is 7.1 to my 5.9. And he pulls a conestoga full time. Spends 10-13k less a year on fuel running the same area I do.

Throw a cattle pot behind it and watch it plummet to 6 just pulling it empty.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

Lifetime on my 2022 is 5.92 mpg. And I’m running 72 (1400 rpm) east of the Mississippi and 77 (1500 rpm) west of it. But, you got me, I don’t idle or have an APU.

D.Tibbitt, Oxbow and Siinman Thank this.
