Legend has it, Peterbilt told them they could only have white long hoods or black aero hoods.

The argument by JB Hunt and Schneider was a cabover breaks the air the least amount of times, before flowing onto the trailer. However, conventional tractors have gotten way more slippery, over the years. I’d sure like to see wind tunnel numbers in, both, direct and yaw airflow.

I’d like to learn more about Euro trucks. They’re mostly limited to 50-55mph, in more dense operating environs over there. But, I’d gladly road test a Scania, over here, provided it had an ICE under the cab. I don’t want to walk. :D

Maybe the 50-55 mph is the key? That could be why they think the cabover is more aerodynamic cause of the better fuel economy.

You’re able to drive and maintain records on 2000 trucks all at the same time? Man I thought I was a super trucker with a long hood, but alas I can only drive one at a time.

Anywho…The physical plastic oil pan aside, it’s the mentality behind it. Either wringing every ounce away from the engine as much as possible or a “eh that’ll do” attitude. God help if it’s both, because neither are confidence inspiring to me. But, y’all like em and they seem to work in the door swinger world. If they deliver what you’re showing I don’t know what you’re mad about.

Or does the plastic oil pan keep you up at night?

Where did the composite oil pan arguing start? Lol Hell I had a problem with the composite oil pan on this Cascadia. It cracked when some doofus over tightened the drain plug. To be fair that's not really a problem as long as it's not over tightened. But still not a fan of those after loosing all ****ing day at a dealer waiting on them to fix something that should have been knocked out in a couple of hours.
