An aftertreatment box can fail on any of them these days. I wouldn’t necessarily fault the truck for that. I remember when Freightliner was going through a whole lot of them in 2014 because the welds were failing inside the box and causing all sorts of issues.

Who knows. It’s the transmission that sells these trucks though.

It was because his truck had to go to MATS and he was delivering the multi drop load in his trailer. He did some drops and then had his other driver do the drops with rental and then flew back out to finish it.

Spoke with my friend at the dealership and he said they were "dying". No one is even looking and some of the trailer manufacturers are dropping prices, which means large customers are cancelling orders and reordering even though it will take a few more months to get the new order. New trucks are showing up much quicker than originally planned than originally slotted, which means the factories are catching up due to a decrease in demand.

Also, there are a lot of used trucks that are going to be available on the lots, especially the mega large used dealers, since all the dealers overpaid or allowed too much on trade. It's just a matter of when do they want to bite the bullet and eat the losses.

With light dry van loads, my 2000 Volvo with 12.7 550/1850 Detroit and 3.58 rears gets 7.5-8mpg. I never baby it, just set the cruise to whatever the speed limit is.
I really really think that if that guy Joel drives my truck instead of me, he will get like 9-10 mpg

He mentioned again about posting up the rental truck’s specs and performance. I’m curious to see it, just for comparison.
