Maybe in another 4-6 weeks they will see the writing on the wall. I don't think this summer is gonna pick up enough to push people into buying again this year. I think you may have a good chance at least by the end of summer if you hold off.

No doubt. Heck Jim Hawk still has this exact same trailer (and not just one but many) but it's a 2023 and they want $114K. Like how? That boat has sailed.

At this point, unless the new prices come down, a 1-2 year old trailer is a lot more appealing than over paying on a new one. This past week at auction brand new 2023 and 2024 O/O speced Vanguard reefer trailers went. They didn't have the unit and they went for $56K and $58K, which didn't include FET, so around $62K out the door. I'm not sure why new trailers are going straight to auction and if it was a carrier, dealer or Vanguard that sent them. There was 10 of them.

The one in SLC I wanted a S700 with the lights and chrome and they said it was $3K more and would take 4 weeks to get it ready. If you wanted a S600 it could be picked-up this week.

    I guess I don’t feel so bad now paying 28 for a 7500 X4!

Not hating at all but I’ll take a TK over the Carrier any day. Noise and sleep alone is worth it from what all my guys say. We’ve rental plenty of carrier in the past and they never get good reviews

Besides I’m familiar and have all my other units hooked to the online TracKing system.

Having pulled both in FL, Carrier will simply stomp a TK, for cooling performance. Bigger compressor, bigger evaporator, bigger fan, and bigger air outlet ensures it. I could always count on a Carrier getting the trailer pulled down, for loading. However, their wavering run mode is annoying. I always wondered if I’d run it out of fuel and it was dying, until I got used to it. Even so, I’d still choose Carrier. I think, they’re foreign to most drivers and techs, so they get negative reviews. They’re a reefer, just the same.

I welcome the Chevy vs ford talk on reefers. Good stuff. The main reasons I buy Carrier are; initial cost, parts cost, and my favorite shop sells them in Hudsonville. I do like the power to pull down quickly. I do enjoy the noise cause I know it’s running. -Having a longer wheelbase so if it were closer to my back window I’d maybe have their sound installation… I dunno. What I do wish Carrier would have is a decent light package. TK lights look great. I’ve had the shop put on lights on my units after the purchase to step up my game.

Went ahead and ordered a 389 before they’re done. With my spec, rig up, warranty pack and FET included, the total will be a shade under $262000. It’ll be in probably around Halloween I’m told, but possibly earlier.

It’ll be the last new one I buy. Between the newer EPA bs and just getting older. One last yeehaw :p

Congratulations! It’ll be nice to slide behind the wheel of that ride.
