Maybe they will come up with a spray foam that can encapsulate the whole truck and smoother it out. The whole system is gonna need to be thought out to protect the public when they have wrecks.

    Feedman and JoeyJunk Thank this.

The problem with that is: the fire is a by-product of the real problem, a runaway chemical reaction. You can't just smother it. It creates it's own O2. Current firefighting strategy is to cool it to hopefully preventing it from spreading, until the reaction is exhausted.

Lithium battery fires require different firefighting techniques, says safety OEM - The Loadstar.

    Here's this week's update.

    June 30, 2023
    389 Peterbilt - 146.........9 389X's
    579 Peterbilt - 204
    T680 KW - 429
    W9 KW - 88
    Cascadia - 52
    Volvo Family - 99
    Mack - 49
    International - 79

Whoa, the 2023 and 2024 units available for sale are actually in-line with last week's! That's a first. I don't think you can read anything into it. Now maybe if this continues for another 3-4 weeks we can start jumping to conclusions.

With June in the books it was a meh month. I will say in the reefer market there's seem to be some stabilization in rates and brokers are more willing to give an extra $100 here and there. I've said it before but my rates peaked in January 2022. I called for a recovery in Q3 or Q4 this year. Well we are officially in Q3 and I don't see a recovery this quarter but I think we are getting closer thanks to meaningful capacity leaving the market.

I've got 2 very good jobs I've been working on for weeks. Both are private carrier jobs. One is in the bag, my backup pick. The other one almost is. I'll know for sure in a few more days but I'm pretty certain I got my first pick.
