Local KW dealer has 5 new trucks on the lot, a W9, mid-roof 680 and (3) van spec 680's. Priced them to a local outfit for $219k 3-4 months ago and recently went back to same outfit and told him $189k if he takes all 5. Owner told him to GTFO of my office. As told to me by Freightliner salesman after owner approached him about new trucks. Freightliner is still allocating each dealership a specific amount of units and this salesman sells his entire allotment to one customer and is tired of telling people he can't get any more new trucks....looking to move since his earnings are essentially handcuffed by the mother-ship.
Waiting on New Trucks thread.

579 Peterbilt - 212
T680 KW - 508
W9 KW - 97
Cascadia - 49

An increase of 68 units or 6% from last week. I did try to buy another truck this week but again another low ball offer on my trade-in while they came off a whole $3K from their original asking price. I just don't get it. I saw a few of the Rush Salesman on Youtube say Peterbilt was sold out for the year and Cummins was having engine shortages and some orders might get canceled or if you want your truck you'd have to get a PACCAR engine. Help me understand what I'm missing? Is it purely mega fleets finally replacing units they couldn't during the COVID era? Or did these manufacturers simply cap orders to keep pricing power?Constant Learner, Vitkouski, Siinman and 6 others Thank this. -
The entire vehicle industry is capping production, to create demand, in attempt to maintain inflated prices. It worked during the flu and, now, they’re just trying to maintain it. Automotive dealership lots are empty, yet, the plants are packed full of completed vehicles. My contract cancelled all of next week, on both components I haul. It has to be intentional.

Why are you trying to trade instead of selling yours outright? Pay a few hundred dollars and list it on Truckpaper for a price you consider fair and see what happens. You are aware what the auction market is like right now so expecting anything more than wholesale for your truck from a dealer isn’t realistic.
