Here's this week's update:
September 16, 2023
389 Peterbilt - 164.........15 389X's
579 Peterbilt - 376
T680 KW - 485
W9 KW - 108
Cascadia - 79
Volvo Family - 173
Mack - 52
International - 91
An actual decrease of last week of 30 units! I do think these dealers finally lowering their price is helping move some units. I was talking to a few salesman this week and I believe Peterbilt issued their Q1 pricing for 2025 models and there was an increase (shocker) and if you wanted to build a T680 or 579 there's a few dealers that still have limited spots with December delivery. So if you're banking on a freight turn around in 2024 it might be time to order one this year to avoid the price increase next year.
2nd week with the 579 and we got 7.4MPG. Compare that to the 389 I have that averaged 5.5MPG this week. And boy did I wish I had that 7.4MPG with that $6.09 fuel in Spokane we came across.
Waiting on New Trucks thread.

After a decrease last week there was an increase of 68 units for sale! I don't know if it was just randomness but I had 2 salesman call this week with units that just arrived and were available as buyer wasn't taking delivery (one dealer had 11 units!). Then another salesman called me to let me know a unit I inquired about earlier was available again because the buyer couldn't get financing.
More interesting this week, the Taylor Martin auction had brand new Vanguard reefer trailers up for auction (no unit). These didn't include FET and went for $46K. With FET included, out the door it was $52K. On Truckpaper that same trailer is listed for $64K at a dealer. We all know new equipment is overpriced and it's interesting to actually seeing just how overpriced it is...in this case 23% over priced.Cat sdp, Rideandrepair, JoeyJunk and 13 others Thank this. -
