Talked to a lot of owner/ops who signed on with us over the past couple of months and they’re all saying the exact same thing-they were initially running their own DOT numbers until the freight market tanked(most of them were power only). Now they’re signing on with companies to get the freight to keep their trucks moving and the notes on their trucks paid.
    They’re basically in survival mode!

That’s the first steps to going out of business. Soon your company won’t have enough freight to keep them all moving. Then they will start turning trucks in.

Hopefully they fall faster than they have been lately. We need a big purge this winter!

We don’t have trucks to turn in,unless the warranty has expired,is about to expire or if the truck is a “problem child” (excessive costs on repairs or other maladies).
Remember that Marten has fared better than most because the company is debt-free and we don’t do that fleece-purchase BS everyone keeps falling for!

ducnut, Rideandrepair and Feedman Thank this.

So I march into my local small town kenworth dealership. And tell my salesperson (who knows me well) that I want to order a new W9. If I go back to work I’ll use it if not I’ll keep it till you can’t get them anymore and sell it as new/old stock.

He told me he can’t/ won’t order me a W9. I can have a 880/990/680 no problem but the W9 build slots have been rationed to the smaller dealerships by Paccar……

    Can’t make this crap up……

Anyone know what kind of prices this auction brought earlier this week?
Don't know who started the company but they had a good customer freight base. Sold to a investment company several years back I think.
    Good looking units.

    What a load of crap……

Since when does Paccar not sell to anyone that’s got the coin……The more you spend the better they treat you.

Some of these big fleets get stupid crazy below cost parts pricing. WM, Central, TMC ……
