When I first got the quote, it was hard not to laugh out loud. But, IF these crazy used prices stay where they are, a 450K mile trade on a new 200K truck is only a $80K spread, not even $0.20 a mile depreciation.

To put that in perspective, that's less depreciation per mile than most people have on their pickup trucks......

Well got an update today on the truck. It is finally built BUT it does not have all the parts and no idea when it will get finished. But at least its is built... YEAHHHH

    EDIT Add on:

Just talked to the sales guy and he said that the last truck before mine was built and set for two weeks and this morning they just got the ok on it being finished. So if my luck can change to good it will be only 2 more weeks. With the bad luck I have had the last 4 months I am not holding my breath!!!!!!!

How is it built if it doesn't have all the parts? Makes no sense.

They have been building trucks for awhile now that are missing like 3-4 parts. Sometimes they can send them out and the dealers can finish them with parts in stock. Mine will not be one of them according to the information I just got.

Well that sucks. So they are sending out brand new semi-built trucks to dealers, hoping they can finish them? Wow. Well, hopefully they get their act together and gets yours all-the-way done.

My truck was built in Oct and sat in Denton at the factory until Dec waiting on a controls module for the ABS.

The last few weeks cooled down the rates which with the addition of the raising price of diesel, perhaps could also cool the enthusiasm for new investments.

Has anyone of you who are awaiting new trucks noticed any acceleration in truck deliveries due to people getting cold feet or perhaps the supply chain improvement?
I guess I want to ask if dealers resumed offering slots for new orders at all, or is it still in an impasse mode?

I will need to make a decision sooner rather then later of whether or not to place a new order or else go through an overhaul process due to the high mileage on my current truck, the idea that I always thought of as a secondary option. I honestly am inclined to choose the overhaul seeing the new price books but would not know what to expect unless I could get another price offer from a dealer. The last one I got was about a year ago, a truck was promised to be delivered by November as of the last year and it was Volvo 860 - dealer specd for $165 000 with the 5 year warranty. I did not accept the offer at that time.
If the new orders are still promised for 1 st or 2nd QTR of 2023 or later then most likely, I'll have to reinvest a lot in my current truck, if I am to exploit it in the long run.
I just want to see if the are any signs of change already.
