My 23 Volvo 860 was fully loaded with EPU and all 5 year warranty less then 200K all in. But got it before the big blow up on price.
Waiting on New Trucks thread.

These prices blow my mind!! I recall $160k seeming very high. Somewhere between $110-160k prices went up at a faster pace. I’ve heard the emissions increased prices $10k+. Replacement costs, added insurance, fuel, and higher Drivers pay. All add up to higher rates, for the industry to survive. Now all we need are the rates! Lol.
Siinman, Oxbow and Midwest Trucker Thank this. -
Anything new in this department?
Anyone tried to place an order with a reasonable waiting time (less than a year)?
Out of curiosity, I made some calls around lately, but not too much has changed yet, it seems. One Freightliner dealer wanted to allure me to a used 400-500 Cascadia for $110K with still valid warranty. No thank you.
It seems like this 2.5 dol freight ain't too much of a deterrent...We need to see an average of $1.50 per mile freight for things to normalize.Siinman and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Also have 3 new reefers having units installed right now.
From what I can see prices on equipment are definitely softening but new stuff is still so expensive that I don’t think used prices will ever be “normal” again.
I’m fixing to sell some dry vans and will see what I can get out of them.RedForeman, KrumpledTed, larry2903 and 6 others Thank this. -
I’m specking out a 24 Western Star 57X for the first quarter, but I just happened to contact my local dealership the Monday after the new truck was announced. They had just gotten their allocation for those models that day, we had a short discussion and I signed a commitment to purchase right then. The next day all of their allocation was spoken for.
Rideandrepair, RedForeman, Siinman and 6 others Thank this. -
The days of late model, decent used $50k and under trucks are gone.
