    Based on my friends experience, who run new trucks and have drivers in them, $20-30k per year in maintenance start happening after 250k miles or so.
    After 400k miles that number is closer to 30-35k and before 600k miles they just trade in for new ones.

    You probably gonna have to run at least 10 months per year with a new truck, unless you are putting down a huge down payment

    If one does it correctly.... after 5 years in business you should never be financing a truck ever again. Take a couple windfall years like the covid era and theres no excuse not to have paid off a brand new truck in those two years.

    Depreciation is huge obviously but then factor in fuel mileage as well. These new trucks are 8, upwards of 9mpg. Also, factor down time. No brainer but Joe knows best so.. lol ;)

    I'll have to look at some numbers but its essentially nothing. Standard tires, alignment, shocks, etc.

    I can tell you running 10 to 12 trucks, my repair cost are less then when I ran 2 older trucks and 1 used truck.

    If we could get better tire wear, not scrape up bumpers, and not bend cab extenders, id be home free. LOL

    If you’re just taking it easy running the spot market and taking time for life’s pleasures. A new truck is probably not the way to go.
    If you are running a business, you need the uptime to serve your customers and provide steady employment for your help… New trucks are probably your best bet. Two different styles and different needs. No reason to get hangry. Lots of guys here that are passionate. It’s Christmas time a coming! Now everybody shake hands or I’ll break out the switches and coal!

    Sorry not sure me showing anything will help anyone else. If you do not know how to run your own business at the point you get into the game then pretty much gonna guess you will fail. I never had any trucking experience but had plenty of business experience and good with numbers. Guess you will just have to take my word for it and see if I fail at some point. Assuming I am willing and able to work I see no reason why I would fail.
