And you would be correct! I did not have but 2 weeks of trucking experience when I bought my first truck. Trucking is the easiest part of the whole job and is something most anyone can do and that becomes the problem. Any Tom, Dick, and Harry can buy a truck and run it into the ground.

I took to shop to have them fix a ground issue after the first week I got the truck. Also I had them fix some of the outside running lights and that is it.
I have had one PM service done and a couple fuse's replaced. So one PM service has all the money I have put into the truck for 8 months. Always had 24-30K a year on fixing and keeping up with my 2014. So one could say my cost from Maintenance and extra fuel savings alone pays for the truck. Or at least makes it seem like that 1200 dollar payment and 2k plus on Maintenance and the 250-300 gallons a month extra I would spend on fuel would be a better deal.
Old Truck Payment
$1200
Maintenance
$2K
Extra fuel
$1350
Total $4550 ( My new truck Payment is less then this cost For the second) -

Sure, someone can get better revenue achievements than I but I doubt it would be so drastically different that I would change my mind. This based on the assumption that we are all subjected to the same market. This isn't even about your failing, which I don't want for you, it is about the amount of input you need to give in order for this to work. But you say that you are that much better thant the rest, which may be true, but I argue that even if you are, you are unique and the whole rest better not assume to be that better either.
There are owner operators with their ideas - customers who can justify the expense. I think that working the spot market isn't exactly about having a brilliant business idea.
Perhaps, there's also a factor of maintenance cost. If someone doesn't know better from dealers shops or TAs and Loves repair places where to fix things or buy tires, then it is a different story.
You also bought the truck for pre-inflationary price, if remember correctly. That's a substantial difference, therefore you don't count as a good example either. With hindsight, I should have bought that Harrison Cascadia Glider for $155k too. But now the difference between 200k and 155k at 9% or even 11% is not small. -
