Some states will let you get a revision of your permit for less money. Rather than order a new permit. Doesn't hurt to ask.

it has been a good read so far. -
Well hopefully CDOT will get stuff cleared enough for you to roll. Can you go through the tunnel, or are you going to have to go over Loveland?
Live and learn. A mistake you won't make again, I'll bet. -
I can take Eisenhower just have to stop to get clearance first.
Big Don Thanks this. -
Good luck getting someone to let you back on the highway

Not that it matters now...during the winter, I always price oversize moves to go through Wyoming. Between curfews and prolific snow falls I-70 isn't worth the few miles that it saves.
Big_Red Thanks this. -
Agree with previous posts. I-70 isn't a good road to run in the summer and legal loads in the winter suck. Oversize did it once and had to run Loveland. I stay off that goat trail whenever possible. Adding a few miles is a lot quicker than sitting 3 days. Call Colorado permit office they may extend your permit without cost.
I've ran Wyoming during snow storms with oversize, much easier than I-70.
This is a website that has a link to Colorado and other states for Permit restrictions.

Holiday travel you will have a lot of time to sit tomorrow thru Sunday.
Good Luck. -
If you haven't been up Eisenhower before there is a pull off at the very top on the right. If they don't let you go through they will have you go over the tunnel to turn around. Steep little run over it and you will have to watch out for DOT traffic on it.
Loveland is normally closed at dusk hours in the winter time so that the DOT crews can take care of ice on the road as it starts to freeze again. Loveland sure is pretty this time of year up there.
