I don't drive but am awake for the same time as dad. Half the time im the one who's more fatigued waking up everyday at 5 and then doing the vampire thing. I sleep like a baby in the top bunk a bit cold at times but we sleep with the truck off in a store lot so no one else but us.
Wake up refreshed?

Lol Stump. I like your avatar.
I've a few case's of waking everyone up in the house by going out, starting the truck and sleeping in the drive way. "Baby, WTH are you doing?" I can't sleep, too #### quiet in the house. She ended up coming out and sleeping in the truck with me just so she could curl up with me because I wasn't home much. I rarely have trouble sleeping once I fall asleep because I sleep hard. It's the trying to get to sleep that seem's to be the difficult part. When I'm overly stressed and I tend to sleep light and wake up in the middle of the night several times and hard time falling back out. I normally sleep out an entire 8-10 hours. Seem's lately no matter how much/ little or just the right amount of sleep I get I still feel run down through the day and I feel fine other than the normal constant pain in the ### backache.JustSonny Thanks this. -

Since I only sleep in the truck a couple of times per month, I've not learned to do it well. As a rule I only sleep about 6 hrs per night anyhow, I've only a handful of times spent the night in the truck where I've slept a full 8 hrs, once when I got caught in a downpour in Texas. I fell asleep while it was a light rain, the sound knocked me out, I slept through a hail storm though. The other was after a straight through run to Houston and back when I had to sleep. I have a hell of a time sleeping next to a reefer (mine or anothers), when I do my occasional Alb. run, I will hit the sack when I get there about 3 am and sleep til 8am then get breakfast, go get loaded and head back.

When I was driving for Western I had no problem getting rested each night. Only time I didnt get rested was one delivery I made to a BJ's that had me there 7pm at night. The dock manager said he would thump my cab when he was ready. Spent the whole night waking every hour or so. I was very grateful when I dropped that load, grabbed a load of furniture and found a nearby rest area to get a couple of good rested hours of sleep.
For the most part, when your driving you wont have a problem getting sleep. Even if you have a reefer on automatic, you will still get used to it firing up briefly.JustSonny Thanks this.
