So if they check your records can they detect internet activity on your phone or just calls/texting? For example I'm reading this forum and I get a critical event?

They only ask for records when you get a random alcohol test, or in the case of an accident. If you are stationary when looking on the internet, then there is no issue at all.
-
They dont look at data or incoming text
-
They only compare the time of sending a text with only your drive time on your logs. Stop at a light send a text and still on the drive line then you will be fired.
grabberblue12 and Chewey Thank this. -
Lots of apps that only use data and much harder to detect if driver was using it or not, many apps use data all the time.
-
Except at terminals where there are random checks.pdog66 Thanks this.

Ryder Dedicated Logistics- Houma Division does this on their Shell Account, but allows handheld CB radios. Didn't understand the difference.

The unofficial (but truthful) answer is, "The CB does not leave a trail, but the cell phone does."
-
what if you have your primary phone that you dont tell them about and then a secondary phone like a pay as you go/pre-paid phone? then how do they know?
-
