I know the Wally in Rifle ,CO lets trucks park. I don't know why anyone would want to. They have a great rest area just across I 70 that will hold at least 50. One near me in Hudson Oaks, TX always has a few rigs parked there.

because the rest area fills up with a-hole drivers who don't know how to park. I spent 4 hrs itn he Wally World lot in Rifle waiting out the chain law in Vail last winter, I had a cold and didn't feel like chaining up, tried to park in the RA but there were so many idiots parked in there crooked, it was perfectly dry, that I just decided to park in Wally World. -
We were hauling some OD oilfield housing units from LA to Rio Blanco canyon. I think that's what they called it. There were about 10 of us. Supposed to deliver SAt. Called us that morning and changed to Mon. That evening some of us bobtailed to town to eat and have a few brewsters. Get back and someone had parked his pickup and trailer in front of a driver for Sammons trailer. He woke him and asked the guy to move. Told him to FO. Cops finally pull up and tell the guy he has to move. Plenty of spaces why pull that cr ap. He tells them he got drunk in Grand Junc and pulled over. Cops let him move and sleep it off. Just laughed about it. Said he hated to arrest an honest man. Later all Hell broke loose. Some other camper away from the rest room road we were all parked on had robbed a convienience store and they were tracking him. They finally got him as he was going to jump off into river. Never a dull moment. Another time had to wake some jerk up who had bedded down by the restrooms and blocked the turn around. He got po'd to. I told him to FO and he moved.
Some people just have no sense or respect.

My husband and I parked at Wal-Mart in Greenville, SC. The security guard said that the reason management was saying no to trucks was because of disgusting behaviors such as pee bottles but she wasn't going to make us move. She told us that as long as we were respectful she wouldn't run us off.
I can understand some lots saying no because they just aren't big enough but not to single out truckers just because they are "pigs". All truckers are not like that. I can't even count the number of times I have pulled into a Wal-mart and seen someone dump their ashtrays, throw out their McDonalds or other such trash and also those that toss their babies diapers. Now that is gross.
Sam Walton would not have stood for the drivers to be turned away. An employee for Wal-mart told us that we should get our hands on their policy book because it is still in their policies that truckers be allowed to park. My husband and I told manager at Wal-mart (forgetting which one now) that we wanted to do our grocery shopping and that we were being told to move truck. The manager told us to stay as long as we wanted even if it was overnight. I told him that was good because if we had to move then they could keep their stuff cause I wouldn't be shopping there. -
still got trucks parking at the walmart here in burton, mi overnight.

The walmart in Benton Harbor, MI, which is near me and infact i used to work there, allows truck parking despite having numerous no parking signs. They DO have a huge parking lot with an area that seems to be intended for trucks but isnt. Parkoing lot is so big it cant fill up even on black friday when you cant get a shopping cart because all 200+ carts are in use.. Infact, trucks park there when they go home for a week or more without problem. Strange. My car broke down there once and i left it overnight, went in to let a manager know, and the girl at customer service told me, oh, one time i left my car here for a month and they didnt care! they just assume its someone working night shift's car. (this store is closed at night therefore they must not pay much attention at all LOL)
Also, the area where trucks park is about 6 feet lower than the rest of the parkign lot. Coincidence? -
The wife and I did some shopping at the Wal-Mart supercenter in Thornton, Co. today, right near the house. There are no dedicated truck parking areas, but they do let the guys either park behind the store or on the So. side of the building taking up as few spots as possible. When we came in, there were two trucks parked, England and CRST. An hr later, as we were leaving, the CRST truck was pulling out, I watched the female in the passenger seat roll down her window and dump an ashtray out the window, then toss a Wal-Mart bag with stuff in it out the window. As a hunch , I drove over and ran over the bag, it was full of empty bags and a pop can. We turned around, picked it up and through it in the trash. I then went and got the truck number and called CRST about it. The safety person I spoke was real nice, at first tried to blow me off, then I told them that I was also a trucker and that I lived near this store. From the perspective of being a driver and being a local resident I was doubly offended by these people's action. I also told them that had I had my cb working in my pickup the people in the truck would have gotten and earful. Will anything come of it, not likely, but it felt good to vent. This same store used to ban trucks from parking there, as it's out of the way and not really easily accessible by trucks.
DIESEL DOG, Big Duker, hotrod1653 and 1 other person Thank this. -
The Swift terminal is walking distance from that Walmart if you are talking about the Walmart on Quebec/Smith rd. There are signs all over the Swift terminal NOT to park there or across the road by the RR. I have parked bobtail there once, but 95% of the time I walk over.

The Walmart in Lexington,Nebraska (I-80 exit 237) has truck parking spaces. I parked there a couple days ago. Also I believe that the Walmart in Sidney, Nebraska has truck parking spaces also.
