I remember one question they asked how long it would take to drive 100 miles with perfect condition almost thought it was a trick question

We have a "Bad Company" forum for your rants. Even what was and what is now is better that many of the other companies out there have to offer. Don't ruin the man's happy moment. Your thoughts have no impact on the question he is asking.

In regards to the post about our retirement program. Is this not a forum to discuss if Walmart is a good or bad company to work for? Why would someone have to go post on another forum if they are passing along accurate information? Are you only looking for "make me smile by telling me only good things" posts.

Like it or not there are alot of current Walmart drivers who know the company has seen its better days. Im running into more and more private fleet drivers that wish they had stayed where they were. The money is great but the constant supervision and monitoring has a lot of people really on edge.

When Bentonville sticks a knife in the back of some if its best and you hear how badly it damages everthing in their lives its far more than "sour grapes". When a company declares war on its drivers by instituting very restrictive and intrusive policies its more than "sour grapes". Private fleet drivers for the most part have spotless records which show years of exercising good judgement and putting safety first. To these drivers the new practices are just a kick in the crotch,a reward for years of safe loyal service. The private fleet is undergoing a serious remodel and people need to hear both sides of the story in order to make an informed decision.

New drivers are lured in by the money, which can be very good but it comes with a very high price. These new drivers cant give an objective opinion because many of them have no clue about what this once was. Back in the day the best of the best came here to be part of Mr Sams very elite club. Now its the best of those that Bentonville can steal from the mega fleets.

Matt is a newer guy that has a very good thread about coming to Walmart,it has alot of useful information including observations from those making the move over. There are plenty of comments from newer guys but most of them are in la la land because they came from less than desireable places. He does a good job and the forum police make sure it stays on track.

Your spot on but private fleet drivers for years were trusted to always exercise good judgement. This allowed us to work without having to constantly worry about making a mistake that might well cost us our jobs. Im dead serious when I say that there are a lot of us on edge, makes for a long week.

Yes, they were trusted to always exercise good judgement............. but some didn't, which is why these policies came to be. Walmart is actually behind the curve on the phone policy thing, with many of the large companies banning them outright. Oh, and they did not do away with "steps." They still exist and we have had a couple of guys get them for the phone policy.

Stop pi**ing on this guys cornflakes. He made a thread asking a specific question and you had to pull it off on your little war against the company that you supposedly work for. If you are so unhappy, and think that those other places are so much better to work at, then go there. Plain and simple.

BTW, 1.5 years in and this is still a great job. Like all jobs, it is not perfect. However, we are treated with great respect, have great pay, and are pretty much left alone as long as you do your job. The job I came from had similar pay, and I had almost complete freedom, but was treated horribly. I would do this over in a heartbeat. Oh, and no overcooked food here yet. Sorry Cal.

To the OP, sorry I can't add anything on that one. They have changed the interview process from when I went, so my observations are not valid. Just be yourself, be honest, and do not badmouth anyone or any job. You will do fine. Good luck, and we look forward to having you with the fleet. :)

Heck no! I'd kill myself before I set foot in one of their stinky stores or spend one penny with those criminals!
