It was still a place to pull the brake valve and go to bed. Not exactly something we need less of.

According to a number of W-M managers I've spoken to...they don't have the say anymore except for behind the store and sometimes not even then. If the store is in a "mall" it may not be W-M property.

I'd suggest calling the W-M you're going to park at......talk to the manager and get permission to park back in the loading areas. (Just please don't park in the docks because then I'm going to bang on your windows)

there is one in Joplin, MO off of Rangeline Rd. exit 8a/8b depending on the direction you are going. Go about 5 miles North and it is on 15th and Rangeline on the right hand side. We have always parked there and never had a problem, mainly because its not owned by Wal-Mart. Not the cleanest lot but good enough to park.

Big Lots is next to them but don't park in their lot. They have signs posted but don't know if anyone hasn't gotten a ticket or towed.

I have found that most grocery store or shopping centers have no real problem with me parking there to sleep, I tend to use the same ones in a given area, alot.

But there are reasonable consideration's I will take, I do not park where I'am going to disturb there neighbors, if its comfortable I turn off my lights and engine. I leave it cleaner than I find it (it's called appreciation). ANd if I see the store manager while Im getting my morning coffee, I thank the amnager and ask them if its a problem or if they mind. On in Placentia, CA off the 57 & Yorba Linda Blvd said he actually had a decresae in nightly vandalism since I started using his lot behind the store.

I remember one time i parked at a big, inside mall, in the parking lot near some loading docks. I was tired and i had been told there was a walmart at that exit i could park at, but i couldnt find it (turns out it was across the street haha), so i parked here. It was in VA near chesapeake, within a couple of miles of a big Maersk warehouse, dont remember where exactly. I woke up to someone knocking on the sleeper. I got up and was asked..."Are you here for pennys?" i said nope! went back to bed. someone else knocked on the sleeper..."are you here for sears?" i said nope, went back to bed.

of course, its not like they woke me up in the middle of the night or anything. But ROFL. I guess everyone just assumed i was there for a delivery. Got outta there right around opening time.

oh, the worst part...it was during a noreaster...you should have seen the parking lot when i waded inside to go to the bathroom. Lord!

What about the one's that have blackout times? Can't deliver between I think 10pm an 6am!!! U should see the mad dash of local vendors once it strikes 6!! It's a mad dash for a dock!!! I had an eta of 0300 at one in Moore, OK, when I showed up, I rang the buzzer an the asst manager came back there, opened the door and just about had a heart attack on me!!! YOU CAN'T BE HERE RIGHT NOW!!! YOUR GONNA GET A TICKET, WERE GONNA GET FINED BY THE CITY!!! funny thing is, I only had 1 pallet to drop there, so she finally settled an let me drop an go!! I called my dispatcher after the bit, an asked him why the heck they set my eta in the blackout time?! Of course he was clueless, BIG SUPRISE!!! I know better now...

The Wal Mart in Saginaw Texas has truck paring spaces.

You don't suppose that regular Truck Stops could do a better job of servicing the needs of truckers, do you?

I would think if I owned a truck stop, you can just hand me all the off cast Wal Mart truck stop wishfulls and I would be happy for the business.

But there is a reason drivers would rather stop at Wally World than a truckstop. It might be they get tired of doing the piss bottle featured at most stops. When drivers gripe about having to pay to park, remember someone has to pick up after y'all.

Truckers could do a better job of policing themselves, and we all suffer a societal bias because we don't.

I use shopping centers because I do not want to deal with the driver problems, like getting backed into, people takin a piss on your wheels, seeing someone leaving a little mountain next to your drives, you know all the nice things you would miss.

Also I try to be an asset to the stores I park behind, not a problem.
