You know I would have but their lines for refunds would have taken up more of my time than I would have liked. Plus I might have said something I would live to regret. I don't like scenes as a rule and if I get mad enough to say something I usually feel bad afterward and wanted to avoid that. And yes, I know by not getting a refund I perpetuate the activity. But I also know when I get to the point where I need to just walk away.
I get my point across every time I shop at Target or Kmart, instead of Walmart. I used to go to Walmart several times a week and spend a lot of money there.....but no more. I go in once a month to pick up my thyroid medicine. When I go in for my blood panel this next time to renew my prescription I will probably go elsewhere for that.

(1) Truckers don't come and deliver goods. Truckers are PAID to deliver goods. Truckers are not doing Walmart or any body else a favor by delivering their goods. Neither Walmart nor any other company should be obligated to allow trucks onto their property just because trucks bring their products to them. Because a UPS or Fedex or USPS person delivers a package or letter to someone's home does not make them entitled to come to that person's home to visit or do whatever.
(2)Your first paragraph says trucks bring their goods, but they don't want trucks on their lot. Your second paragraph suggests that we are not welcome.
Can you make a distinction between trucks and truck drivers? Is it possible or probable that they are not 'discriminating' against truck drivers , but have a legitimite reason for not wanting trucks in their parking lots? Reasons ranging from local laws preventing truck parking,to parking lot surfaces not designed to support the weight of a truck. I did a Walmart store delivery 1 day for my company in the north east and became aware that certain stores could not take delivery during certain hours because of proximity to residential areas. Not even Walmart trucks were allowed to deliver during these hours. The desicion to restrict trucks(not truck drivers) from parking lots may very well not be a walmart decision.
I have never been to a walmart and was asked my occupation ,and was subsequently turned away because I am a trucker. I therefore can't conclude that there is discrimination against truck drivers. I have however gone to business places which put up signs saying "no shoes no shirt ,no service". Now there is discrimination for you. But to the credit of shoeless and shirtless individuals, I don't here them whine and throw tantrums like spoilt brats ,as if the world owes them something. But then again shoeless, shirtless people might have a forum such as this ,where they do indeed complain. -
Am I the only one that thinks this poster is just taking a contrary position just because he likes to argue???
How does the saying go? "Arguing with a trucker is like mud wrestling with a pig, after awhile you figure out the pig is enjoying it!" -
I would have done just that.
Screw the tree hugging idiots in Commiefornia. -
It was Kansas,
but we do love to argue !!!!!!!! -
This is posted in 'The truck Stops Here' section ,which by its description,is about truck stops, travel stops along the highway, and businesses which cater to truckers .
Now since, and I stand to be corrected, Walmart is not in the truckstop business, the 'travel stop along the highways' business, or businesses that cater to truckers, is there a good reason why this thread was started in this section?
I trust a moderator will move this thread to a more appropriate section.
Although it perhaps would offend some of the 'victims' among us and would not be courteous or make good business sense, could Walmart business relations be faulted if a terse one sentence reply saying "Walmart is not a Truck Stop" was sent to you? Someone perhaps should start a poll . I know I wouldn't fault them if they responded like that , and that would not make me boycott them, for after all, that would be the truth, and thetruthhurts . -
Point out something wrong with anything I have posted. Ignore the messenger and pay attention to the message. Its not difficult. And might I add, thetruthhurts

Not responding to that provocative comment!
But let me ask you this, if you have indeed been driving for 50 years, aren't you tired of the trend of continued demeaning treatment of truckers? You (allegedly) drove in the "good, old days" when drivers were respected and treated well by the public and other drivers. It makes me sick to be treated with more contempt and disrespect than your average criminal! The media, the law enforcement, the lawmakers, retailers, wholesalers, distributors, the public at large, hell even our fellow truckers treat us, at worse as criminals, thieves, liars, and assorted other scum, at best, we are regarded as a necessary evil! I don't believe I have earned that reputation, nor have you or 99% of the rest of us drivers! Are we wrong for demanding better treatment or should just accept the "secondary citizen" label and let people treat us poorly??? You may chose to accept the garbage but why should the rest of us? Maybe its a self-esteem problem. I take pride in what I do for a living and will not allow anyone to disrespect, mistreat, or disparage me for the occupation that I happen to choose!
I applaud the OP and his attempt to stand up for himself, and by proxy the rest of us drivers! I strongly encourage other drivers to employ the same tactics when confronted with such poor treatment!

I might again mention that the walmart this thread is the subject of does have truck parking. I guess nobody noticed the map.

Sorry! You are right! I will try really hard to put away my soapbox now!
