This Company Walbon & Co. Based out of Rosemount Minnesota and has 1 terminal in Wildwood Florida is a horrible, unreliable company to work for. They have new equipment and an excellent maintenance department, however their Dispatch and Customer service is horrible at best. I worked there for over a year, I was supposed to be one of their top drivers, I went above and beyond for this company, and 10,000 miles a month, no accidents, kept the equipment clean at my expense, worked holidays, etc. One day out of the blue I was told to take the truck back to the terminal and clean out the truck, no reason, nothing! Walbon is a dangerous company to be working for, they have a bad CSA score, and dispatch will give you loads that are already late, and when you deliver late, well it's going to be the drivers fault. I cannot believe Darby Walbon (Owner) cannot see how bad his business is being run! He fired his operations manager of 18 years, for no good reason, but he keeps the yahoo's in customer service and dispatch. I have seriously thought of turning them in to DOT for forcing me to run illegal (Or loose my job) And basically that's why I was terminated (which came out later - I wouldn't run illegal) But I do have to say the company never tried to cheat me out of pay, they where always on top and paid just what they said they would. Now if there is anyone at Walbon & Co, that would care to challenge what I am saying, Darby Walbon included, please feel free to get in touch with me, I have every trip recorded from day 1 an many past employee's that will give witness to what I am saying. If you want to be run to death, paid little and have zero job security, and be lied to repeatedly - then Walbon & Co. is for you! Call C.T. in the recruiting department, he will tell you every lie you would like to hear, or call Larry D, he has no clue what he is doing, but he was in place of the operations manager - go figure. Lets go one step further, Darby Walbon's wife Karen, told a straight out bold faced lie to my face, she said and I quote "we will call you back to work in a couple weeks" complete lie !! The veteran drivers there, won't do a dam thing to help the company, that should tell you what type business it is.

If they tried to force you to run illegal did you file a complaint with FMCSA?

I tried to file a complaint with the FMCSA, nothing was done about it. After 28 years and 2 million miles, I have given up driving commercial vehicles, gone to school and got my HVAC License and am working towards my own business. The trucking industry both drivers & trucking companies suck! LOL

Well first of all, you suck because of your attitude, and yeah, 99% of the drivers on the road today suck, they have no clue what they are doing and they have no sense of being a professional driver, if you do not see this, then you are in the category of the unprofessional. Like I said, I have done this for 28 years, I know what the industry was and I know what it has turned into, as for Walbon, my decision is not based on that company alone. It is based on a whole, the trucking industry sucks, there is nothing but rude, uneducated drivers. This post is simply to warn other drivers about this company.

I, for one, don't appreciate your classification that "99% of the drivers on the road today suck" or that the industry has nothing but "rude uneducated drivers". While I agree the industry has it's share of less than professional drivers (read "idiots"), it's completely unfair to categorize all of us in this manner. This website is truly a microcosm of our industry, why don't you take a look around and assess the professionalism of some of the members here? Successful business men and women, proud delivery men, lifelong Teamsters, and experienced long haul folks grace these pages every day. Each with a different story and all garner MY respect. Perhaps this industry will be better off without you?

Good day and good luck, Sir.

Good luck in your future endeavors because with that attitude you won't get anywhere either sometimes you just have to look in the mirror to see the real problem for you to sit there and laugh all drivers as bad that tells me that all the drivers aren't the problem it's the one voicing the problem
