Just got put in a new KW T680. Need a new cb since my old one doesnt fit the cubby. Looking at the sr-447hpc2. At walcott with their peak and tune shipped I can get it for $320. At Bells with their peak and tune I can get it for $344. From lesters custom with his enhancements and the am regulator max mod it comes to $403 shipped. Is there a better place to look for this radio?
Also which place will do the best job working on the radio and is the best place to buy it from?

Seriously, I never trust a "peak and tune" by anyone. I prefer getting it aligned right.

I don't spend more than $150 on a radio, they are all the same. The antenna is where the money needs to be spent.

SWR is not the goal, you can have great SWR but not get out more than a mile.

So true. The company trucks, Cascadias, I use to drive were a great example of that! Great SWR but by the the time the signal got to the antenna thru all the multiplexers and splitters, you weren't putting out enough power to talk even a mile!

craig_sez, ducnut and Timin770 Thank this.

Keep the radio you have and just mount in a different location..Never was a fan of putting a radio in a cubby hole..During the summer it can get real warm up there..
