Could mean many different things. In the case of say John Christners Walk away lease, you have the freedom to walk away at any time (assuming you turn the truck back into them) with out being charged or held accountable to any further payments. Your maintenance escrow and last pay check would be held for 45 days (if memory serves me) in order for your truck to be put through the shop and any issues resolved.

You usually pay more for the truck because you can walk away anytime you feel like it. The company also has a little interest in you walking away because they are making more money in truck payment then normally. So if you walk away they could lease the truck to another driver and he pays more. In the end they can make more money or good morning ey just by every new guy doing the walk away lease. Then they can sell that truck and get the remaining value out of that truck. My understanding is one thing people don't think about is the trucking company/leasing company can take that truck back anytime they want. Because you can walk away anytime you feel like it. So can they, meaning if you close to paying the truck off and they want to sell it as a used truck for $60,000. They can do that because it's not your truck.

They could also give you crappy runs and try to starve you out of the truck till you give up and walk away. If you going to lease a truck go to a LoanMountain or some no hooked in the the same company you drive me for.

It means you walk away with nothing in your hand except your phone
