    With my company, Wal-Mart loads are drop and hook(we still pay the $50). As was said earlier, as long as you follow their procedures all is well. I'm usually in and out in 15-30 minutes. Most of our deliveries to Sam's Clubs are live unloads, but still usually in and out in 2-2.5 hrs.

    I just delivered at the Walmart DC in Robert, LA

    This is one of the less desired ones.

    I waited 20 minutes at the window to get checked in with 3 clerks there.

    Spider webs everywhere in the drivers side like they don't care about that part.

    Even though appts are in 15 minute intervals, when you check out they hold the paperwork. There was about 10 of us checking out at the same time. Another 15 minutes wasted.

    You get your paperwork and it's stamped it was available 30 minutes earlier. Well why didn't you call me then?? They made me late for my second drop. You know how that goes. I get to next drop and because I'm late I have to wait on 4 trucks after me to get unloaded. It's always the drivers fault.

    Everett Thanks this.

    I have done lots of stores. they are one of the better drops because they do not want you to spend night on lot. so they unload as fast as can to get you on way

    most of the Wal-mart DCs I've been to are pretty quick. Most of what my company does is drop & hook. Wintersville, OH sucks, people are rude and nasty. Terrell, TX I waited 8 hrs to get unloaded. Mc Carran, NV didn't have any empty trlrs for my company so I had to bobtail to my next load in Woodland, CA.

    98% of the DCs are very efficient. Yup, they've got places I don't appreciate - Tomah WI is the one I'm not liking this week. Took 'em 5 hours to unload half a trailer's worth of a frozen load (cross-dock, no charge) the other night - lazy biotches! Made me late on the other half down in London KY.

    I always thought the crew in Wintersville was ok. Maybe you caught them on a bad night...

    Don't expect detention on that Tomah load IP. Wal-Mart gets 4 hours after appt time on cross docks because of the breakdown.

    And I've never had a problem with anyone at Wintersville either. Most of our loads there are drop and hooks I think, I was there on a live unload last week (had a 2nd stop in Tipp City), and had no problem whatsoever.

    Them cross docks take them forever. The last one I had took seven hours. The lady apologized and told me them 24 pallets broke down to 138 pallets. Poor woman, lol. I was at the end of my shift so it wasn't a big deal while I slept and got some detention.

    Sorry for asking this, but do you guys pay to be unloaded?;
    Doesn't the warehouse employ workers to unload (aka warehouse workers);
    Mind you I dont know too much about unloading times for you guys, most smaller companies only have around 2-4 forklifts, so a fully loaded semi takes around 30min to unload (24 pallets).

    I work for a mid size company, and all they places ive been too, we arnt allowed to unload pallets ourselves, and must be done by a forkie. (but if you got a fork license, and are polite to them, they let you too unload yourself, so long as some-one knows, and keeps an eye on you)
    The depot had a race to see how long it would take to unload and load up a b-double trailer one night; used 4 fork-lifts, and only took 20min.. (Mind you the pallets were still being wrapped up at the same time, so the last 5min was just waiting for the last two pallets)
    Stil, at least you guys get to see alot more country then us aussies.
