Not true at some D/C..... The one in New Braunfels TX the money goes in the pot for the company party. I have been told this by people who work there some of their employees I have known from High School. It may go to Relay For Life at some D/C but not all.

Wally world DC loads have been fairly routine, as long as you get to the WINDOW before your appointment time. I don't mind the 1hr restriction, and some DC's let you in 2 hrs. early, but don't expect to get unloaded before your appointment time.
The 50 flat fee is ok, compared to the rip-off rates many other lumper companies make you pay. That is the trade off for predictable services, in my book. If you're sweating sitting for more than 2 hrs., then maybe you're running too hard for too little? I know freight rates suck these days, and wally world loads likely don't pay that well either, but there is a better way if that's not getting it done..... -
Simple; Walmart Sux!

No most places require Drivers to unload or hire it out. Shippers want to fit as much as they can in the trailer and warehouses like to store everything in small square racks. The frieght put on the Trailer is actually then the Property of the carrier. Therefore we are tasked with delivering it to the buyer/receivers specs. Usually 22 or so pallets hauled turns into 40 at receiver. Far from common belief it is not the receivers product until they sign for it and will not sign for it unless stacked to their liking. -

And being a tanker yanker.... I never got this......having to pay to unload. IMO the concept of " professional driver " is to safely transport everything from A to B.
This has been lost by folks agreeing to lesser terms. The same goes for driver wages, if we didn't pull it for cheap then they would have to pay more. If we refused to pay lumpers, fees etc. then they would have to do something else.... if they wanted the goods. It wouldn't take but a couple of days drivers..... just say no and sit...outside the reciever if necessary but sit. Offer the goods but don't pay and if they won't take it off....sit loaded. Someone is going to miss the goods sooner or later especialy if it's food. JMO -
The ol' guys will tell you they tried that three times in the 70's, and each time truckers came out looking like the bad guys. And it didn't change anything. At the time I was in the military, and I figured truck drivers were getting screwed if they were that PO'd about it.

I see, well Pony, they need to be organized into one voice and one motion. The failure likely occured because someone gave in........... something about bills to be paid.
