Apparently, the company you ran with had a different contract. Swift dedicated trucks haul Walmart wagons and are treated by the stores as if they say Walmart on the door. For temperature controlled, they have 30 minutes to start unloading and 30 minutes after that to be finished. Dry grocery gets a little more time, but not much.

Schneider pulls a certain number of loads out of this DC, but they are notoriously late for appointments.

IDK who you were with but stated I was with SNI at the time. More than once i missed the eta the dc had given usually 30 minutes or less and managment would kick me to the back of the line after all other venders. Hard to hit the road with a 1300 load and it not dock out til 1400 but no1 cared long as the 0000/0600 eta was met. idk if yall have that. i loved the dry loads 30 minutes or less in and out. we did have that 30 minute CFC rule. like i said tho idk who you were with just statin my experience. i know all accounts are a little different and things change better or worse every time the contract is up. again good luck

Correct. Might as well have WM on the door of your truck.

Congrats Injun, glad to hear it. Hope you like it now as well as you did when you did it before! (And no reason to think that you won't.)

I remember doing dedicated WM with SNI, and after awhile, the 18hr days just got 2 be too much. Just saw a message, looking for lots of O/O's now for WM, dedicated for FL and another place. .97/mi, and good miles. Wonder why when they were looking for them in Grove City, it was only .86/mi, ldd and mt.

I pulled wm trailers with england as a l/o out of the reno dc for two years. Made decent money and was home every other day. I was living up there at the time. You won't have to buy another scale ticket, and it really is a gravy gig. After your final stop of the nite, you can shut down at the wm. Most of the stores are pretty quick getting you unloaded, but it was not uncommon to be there more then an hour.

What sucks is that when you pull up to the dock at your first drop, they got to pull several pallets off the truck so they can get to the frozen pallets up in the nose compartment, and it was common for a pallet to tip over and make a big mess, as they like to load em' high and unbalanced. Then they put them back in and sometimes tip em' over again in the process. As you probably know, the wm trailers have 3 compartents so that you can haul frozen in one or two, and dairy in the other one.

The best stores are the super centers, the regular wm stores can be a real pain in the ### with tight docks, screwed up dock ramps, and stuff all piled up inside that they have to move first before they can unload you. Sometimes you get there and there are one or two other trucks ahead of you. Don't beleive it that they will take you first just because you got a refer, cause they never did it for me.

While you are waiting on the other trucks, you go inside to see whats taking so long and you find out everyone is on a break, meanwhile you got two or sometimes three other stops you still gotta make. After the trucks ahead of you leave, they still gotta move all the pallets piled up so they can receive yours. I did alot of nite running, finally shutting down about two or three in the a.m. Another fun thing is knocking on the back door for twenty minutes, then finally walking all the way around the store to the front doors to find someone in receiving.

I always called ahead, but sometimes would get no answer. But this isn't an everyday thing, as most of the stores got there act together and your out of there pretty quick and on to your next stop. All in all I liked it but got bored, and went otr with the Blue Bird. Another thing...In the morning while waiting for your break to be up you can do your shopping. You won't ever run out of supplies.

Swift just scored a contract with four Walmart DCs in Florida. Ocala would be a good yard to be out of right about now.

After running the numbers, including the new fuel discount, lower FSC, lower stop pay, but higher linehaul pay and all miles paid as loaded, I will get an average $300 more in my check each week. And not have to work nearly as hard.

Congrats Injun! You're a good example when you play your cards right, good things happen.

My niece works in a Walmart stockroom. I know her store puts 4-5 people on a truck when it comes in. Hopefully many are like that.
