How do you get onto a dedicated account. I am looking at coming to Prime around September-October time frame. Is it based on seniority? I know I have to do all the OTR training that Prime provides however I live in Clarksville Tn and that would be perfect. Also I plan on being a company driver.

Call the recruiters. Prime just posted on FB they're looking for drivers to run these new dedicated accounts at Olney, IL and Shelbyville TN
snowman1 Thanks this. -
As you get experience driving dedicated accounts come up with experience.i don't know much of anything good about prime. There's a lot of horror stories out there about them and the lease purchase stuff. I am considering prime ONLY because they won the bid on contract that ive been doing for almost 9yrs. This is gonna be a warning to you. You are gonna be the bottom feeders dinner for a few years. It's going to suck and suck bad. If you have a family girlfriend kids or like being home you need to take a different approach. Get a job at ups, Pepsi, coke, Martin browser in Dickson. Start at bottom loading and work up in the company to route truck box truck then semi. If you already want dedicated before you start it's gonna be a real bad couple years for you. Trust me I'm sure you will be happier instead of living in a truck for a couple wks at a time...especially with another guy for 3mths for training...

Any of you Olney drivers transferring to London or Court House? Heard that Olney had posted London was needing 6 drivers.Good luck.:smt079

There are 2 guys I know of that are thinking about Courthouse.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Prime pick up Washington CH in the future. They already do almost all drop and hook out of there, wouldn't be a huge step to drop off some trucks.

Prime people were at a hotel in Olney Thur, Fri, and today. I stopped in and talked to them on my way home. The pay is going to be a sliding scale - fixed payment system. The pay bands will be like: 0-50 will pay $64.40, 51-75 will pay $69.00 and increases $4.60 for every 25 miles range, up to 250 miles. Anything 251 miles and over will pay 40 CPM. They will pay the same $15 stop pay we get now, and I'm not sure about detention. Prime's paper doesn't say anything about it and they didn't mention it.
I figured up what I ran this week with Primes pay. I would have grossed and extra $115.93. But their INS will cost me $216.93/week, VS SNI's $104.53. I would net $3.53 more a week with Prime, however, Prime's INS is crappy! It is better than nothing, but doesn't pay near as good as SNI's. So with me, the wife, 4 kids, and one more on the way, I need the better INS from SNI. So I will have to pass on Prime.
Also SNI paid 100% for 2 sleep studies, and will be paying 100% for the A-PAP machine and all supplies as long as I'm with SNI. The Prime people looked shocked when I told them that. I guess Prime doesn't pay for anything, or very little.
Also I don't slip seat. NO ONE drives my truck but me (there are a few of us like that here.) Prime said they would try to keep me in the same truck, but when I go home there will be someone in my truck, which when I come back it may or may not be my truck anymore. I also drive days and work Sun-Fri, or Mon-Sat. They said they would try and keep me on the same schedule, but couldn't make any guarantees I'd stay on days, or the same work day schedule.Last edited: Jan 26, 2013
