Oh man, you are 3 years in. You're just a year away from hitting scale. You have to stick this out now.
I know the bottom of the board is not a happy place to be, but you're going to be there wherever you go now anyways.
UPS isn't perfect, but it's a pretty good place to be in the overall industry. Give this some real thought.
Once you're at scale? Walmart can't touch that. Not even close.Bud A., Texas_hwy_287, slim shady and 1 other person Thank this. -
Texas_hwy_287 and LtlAnonymous Thank this.

This is easy for me. You're getting paid about 1700 weekly at Walmart. UPS wants you temporarily. Your money is only gonna go up at Walmart. You stay where there's consistency. You don't want to be that boxing promoter that may generate 1 million dollars off one fighter for one night, but overlook the fighter that will draw you steady money for 20 years......you understand what I'm saying?
Short Fuse EOD Thanks this. -
I would probably take the UPS peak job but only if I was able to negotiate a higher pay rate for the inconvenience of having to job hunt during off peak times. I know UPS pays really well but they pay really well to everyone but they have you running as an auxiliary driver and refuse to pay you on the off time so they can save $$$. So either they pay a premium on you or maybe a partial on call pay rate when they’re not using you. If you’re not able to convince them then it’ll be better off staying at Walmart for the job stability. Also you always want a backup job for when you go negotiating and end up burned. Name of the game is don’t keep quiet and eat #### the squeaky wheel gets the grease!

You won't have to job hunt while laid off if you sign up with Trillium temp service. When/if you are laid off again, just call Trillium and say you're ready to roll again.

Downside to the staffing agencies is they always take a cut of the pay. Not one time either, a cut from every pay. The employer usually takes the cut out before the worker even sees it. Big royalty to hire on full time too.
