I'm not gonna lie... This is the TOUGHEST decision I've heard of since being on this site. You can pretty much do whatever because you don't have any real responsibilities.
I'm definitely interested in how this plays out for you. Keep this in mind too tho, you're BLESSED man. You have the freedom to work for either Wal-Mart or UPS. Both pay dang good too.LtlAnonymous, Old_n_gray, HiramKingWilliams and 1 other person Thank this. -
You must be at an e-comm DC??

what if anything does the new contract factor into things?
is dock work offered in lieu of layoff possible? -
So my decision is final. UPS is my final decision.

Stick with a union position for pension., eventually you’ll need it.
LtlAnonymous and prostartom Thank this. -
Many people do not have that luxury and in your situation have to leave.
If you had a family and you were the sole or main income, it would be a different story.Grouch and LtlAnonymous Thank this. -

You’re right everything changes in trucking and just like walmart could outsource , ups could get rid of the pension and go with a 401k vs pension which has happen at union trucking companies in the past . I hope it never happens but anything possible in truckingRideandrepair and LtlAnonymous Thank this. -
De Trucker, Cardfan89 and Rideandrepair Thank this.
