Just have to vent..... is Walmart #^$^% crazy sending drivers from the DC out in this "Storm of a generation", as the weatherman put it? My husband was told that they had freight to deliver, go and good luck. He has been stuck in traffic for over 3 hours and only had 17 on his 70 left when he left the DC.

    truckdriver31 Thanks this.

17 on 70 means plenty of time to work, guessing he's not due end of work week till tomorrow night.

Now on another note, he's an adult, when he was hired WM used to say they hire only the best of the best, and would not question your judgment of what is safe, and what wasn't safe.

Yes they have freight to deliver, but it is up to the driver to determine when to call it due to safety reasons.

Yes, he is an adult and told them it was not safe. They didn't question what he felt was best, they just didn't listen. They said go anyway!!

So why did he go if he felt it was not safe? Who & how did they make him.

All it takes is a phone call to his safety csap manager and let the ops manager and safety guy go at it. NOBODY CAN FORCE YOU TO DRIVE if it's not safe.

The coordinator told him to go. When he calls the DC and asks to speak to a manager he is constantly being told they are busy and the coordinator says that they will take care of him. He really does not want to lose his job by refusing to go. But right now I would rather him be safe than have a job.
