When I am sleeping in the truck, I am really not "off duty". I am responsible for the truck and the cargo in the trailer, plus the fact, I am away from home, maybe not working in a general sense, but still on the job.

So do the new rate drivers eventually make what we make with longevity raises?

No, 38 cents is locked in...no longevity raises...only raise will be end of year payout if they think we deserve it and if they can afford it.

On 5/3 you only gain a 1/2day per week and have to rotate trucks...might as well stay 5/2:(

Geez that's sad.. Swift (walmart dedicated) pays more than that per mile lmao.. and we all know what will happen. Those that are "grandfather" in will run the short hauls while those that are new will be getting longer runs!! "Save money live worse"

Slip seating isn't as big a deal as people make it. I've done it since 2007. Everything I need fits in a backpack.

But have they seriously installed a two-tier wage system where new hires cap out at .38 cpm? That's abysmal, if it's true. Every mega carrier out there caps out at a higher rate, so I see NO point in working for Walmart...ever.

Walmart trucking finally became generic crap along with the rest of the company, I guess. I'm sorry, guys.
