Foot in the door Cap'n Nate. I would apply for Beaver Dam and after a year transfer to Menomonie. Haven't heard if they are hiring more at Menomonie any time soon. Feel free to PM me with any questions. Shutting down in Racine, WI tonight. Roads are bad and had at least four cars spin out in front of me in the last 2 hours. The last one almost hit me, so I will take that as a sign to shut it down. Only about 10 miles from the first store on a three stop grocery load in Milwaukee, so it should come off pretty quick right away tomorrow. Have a great night everyone!

Got a four stop frozen dairy load. First two stores are done. Other two will be done tomorrow cause of time, weather, and noise ordinance. Then pick up a back haul and back to Cleburne. Roads weren't too bad today. Lot of ice melt but the over passes were a complete mess. Many drivers from my area are up here and spent most of the day on down time because of the weather. Not me. I was able to make it in and out of places so I told the ROC to keep me moving and they did. Stay warm and stay safe everyone!

Matt, that is an advantage guys like you and I have down here.... winter weather driving experience. If the roads are open, I would be rolling too! :)

You may not escape the Dallas area until you go home Tuesday. The road closures in the area the past few days, especially around Sanger, probably have a lot of loads backed up. The warmer temps in Dallas tomorrow should help thaw the roads out some more. Be safe and trust your Yankee instincts! :)

Be safe guys. We have it pretty easy out here. Yes, its cold, but the roads are fine.................. well, short of the Christmas shoppers. LOL I was lucky that I didn't have to go to Purina in Flagstaff, as that would have been dicey. However, I am used to running in rough weather, especially when I was hauling propane.

Matt, I have done 2 refer loads. The first one was quite the learning experience. The second one wasn't so bad. Different, but not bad. We haul quite a lot of dry groceries out of Casa Grande.

Anyway, night all. It was a long day.

Yeah we do all dry and Great wide does the wet but with the bad weather they didn't show up. Its all good. Learning experience for me too. Currently sitting in a half mile long line of trucks to pick up a reefer back haul. This may take a while and I sure could use a good nap. Lol

Hello guys. I've been quietly following this thread for nearly a month. I'm happy to say that I've been hired on to drive for walmart starting in January. I would like to think everyone for their contributions to this thread and for providing helpful tips and insight into what to expect. You guys have been a great help. I'm excited about my new opportunity and I feel fortunate enough to have been selected. Again thanks to everyone that contributed. And keep those stories and experiences coming.

DOT physical and drug screen. Also a face to face introduction to the staff such as the operation manager, general manager, mechanics, coordinators etc. At least that's how it went down for me.

Ok. So once again our truck is in the shop for the same APU problem that we have been having. Turns out that the wiring coming through the floor to the main panel had exposed wires that were causing the unit to ground out and trip the rest switch. Fingers crossed that it is finally fixed. Long day and I'm tired so night all and be safe.
