Good deal. Hey man, best of luck. Re-read all the tips and advice (like you haven't done that already right?) about what to point out on the pre-trip. As for the road test...don't curb a tire, run a red light, speed, shift on tracks...you know...drive like you have for the last million+ safe miles you have.

Holiday Inn Express in Sealy is really good. All others motels in town were crap, IMHO. You can get rooms at the Holiday Inn Express for about $82 (Express deals) or less (Name your own price) on priceline.com. The Holiday Inn Express is the only hotel with a 2.5+ star rating in Sealy, so getting the Express deal from priceline.com is easy, since it is only one hotel to pick from, even though it does not tell you the hotel. Name you own price and it may be had for $50 being it is on a weekday! Besides time in orientation, I was sick with the flu a few months ago and spent a few days at the Holiday Inn Express. Nice, clean hotel. Bed was very comfortable, considering I feel the beds at almost all hotels really suck! :) On top of that, you have a 24 hour Walmart Supercenter behind you and 24 hour Whataburger and Jack in the Box across the street. Mike, for orientation, this is where Walmart will have you stay, since you live more than 50 miles from the DC.

As for food, well, you have several fast food joints. The regular restaurants in town taste more like truck stop food, but hey, I have a wife who is a fantastic cook, so I am a bit spoiled! :)

Head East to the town of Katy. About 20 minutes from Sealy. A whole lot to choose from there! :)

A friend of mine lives on FM 3013, the road the Sealy DC is on. Back in 2002, he bought about 50 acres of land real cheap there. If I only knew then what I know now, I would have a huge lot of land that is walking distance from the DC! :)

Another week in the books. Probably the worst week I have had here to date. Low productivity due to the extreme cold and a weather shut down in a blizzard. Had a 2 stop grocery load going to the northern part of the U.P. of Michigan that took forever! I haven't seen that much snow in a very long time. They plow the roads up there, but only sand them, no salt or chemicals. I was driving on packed snow and ice across narrow and windy roads. Beautiful country though. All forest and lakes. Saw a moose and a bear. Moose was out in a clearing about 50 yards off the road and the bear ran across the road about 100 yards ahead of the truck. Signed up to work out of Mount Pleasant, Iowa for two weeks when the sorter upgrade in the warehouse starts. Sounds like it is a work your 70, take your 34 at a hotel, and then back to work. Chance to make some extra money. They have a sign up sheet to do that for the whole 6 weeks they think it is going to take to complete the upgrade, but I need some family time and that is too long for me to be gone. That's the report from the frigid and snowy upper Midwest. Time to start the "honey-do-list". Seems to get a little longer every week! Take care and be safe all!
