For me ,a couple of weeks later I was called for the in person interview with the HR guy, the GTM and the safety guy. I did ok with that and then I did the road test. Passed that then the drug and physical, they got the drug test results before I left. Then they made me a conditional offer of a Friday start 8am. This all took 4 hours, the road test was 40 minutes.
a couple of buddy's already work at cold water basically told me the same thing as this forum be super honest, you can get fired for swearing and don't bad mouth your passed employers the GTM tried a couple ways to get me on this one I think she asked along the lines; what's the worst part of your current job...

 

10 years when I did mine (16 years ago). They have changed the requirements some since I went to work, but I believe you can not be off the road more than 6 months for your OTR/mileage to count.

P.S. TO ALL YOU NEW GUYS: Watch out for those yellow poles!!! We were in DDC class a few weeks ago talking about accidents/incidents and the Sec. came in twice in 30 minutes to report somebody had hit a yellow pole!!!! I purposed we just get rid of all yellow poles!!!

 

Started DDC class on Monday and about an hour into it our GTM came in and cancelled the class saying because of the bad weather affecting the area we had to get out and move some loads. In fact, all DDC classes are cancelled until further notice. Getting to work a Monday through Friday schedule for a couple of weeks filling in for a claims driver. Looking forward to it. 10-14 inches of snow and high winds forecasted for Wednesday into Thursday. Glad I will be at home! Take care and be safe all.

 

Worst year for weather, they have been canceling at Spring Valley too. Did mine during orientation so I m hoping I'm good for a year.
A driver just told me he wasn't sure, but do we get paid for slipping I'm on my third truck this week?

 

We don't get paid for slipping. Might be different at other DC's. Just ask. I had to jump 3 trucks in one day because of mechanical issues. Once you get a system down you can do it pretty quick. Still a pain though.

 

you will not get paid for slipping/changing trucks. they do there best to keep you in a truck as long they can. Get on a program as soon as possible. we have guys that have there own truck in less then 1 year.

 

How long does it take to get a final offer after your back ground clears??? Thx and be safe
