Another quick question for you. Should I start my application for my hazmat endorsement now or after I am offered the job? (I'm just being optomistic...)
-
Now ASAP. Won't hire you without it.. During interview you Can let them know you started process
billthetrucker Thanks this. -
Thanks, Gary

This might be a problem...there was a guy who got turned down because he had a 'paper' license and was waiting for his hard license, and his was a RENEWAL. Maybe your DC will be more lenient but get it going now!
billthetrucker Thanks this. -
Bill, you will be fine. Walmart changed its policy in the past year requiring a hazmat endorsement prior to being hired. You now have up to 60 days from the time a conditional offer is made to obtain the hazmat endorsement. Start the process now and you should have it finalized within 30 days. You can find these details at www.drive4walmart.com
Minimum qualifications for Walmart drivers:
- Interstate Class A Commercial Driver's License with Hazmat Endorsement (or willing to obtain Hazmat Endorsement including cleared background check within 60 days of a conditional offer)
billthetrucker and NYVET Thank this. -
Did not know that Tom. Glad you passed on that policy change, I don't want anything I post to be untrue or outdated.
-
It was updated on the minimum qualifications page last month. It was not the case when you and I were hired in 2013. The whole hiring process has become much simpler and faster now.
-
Well, I got the hazmat test and fingerprints out of the way today. I've got a TWIC card and a passport. Don't know if those will help or not as far as getting hired. Getting even more psyched about Walmart! Thanks for the replys.

Drozer69, TomofTX, and NYVet and anyone else I left out. I just wanted to say thank you guys for all the useful info you put here. One of the reason I applied, is because of what you guys said about the place. I did my pre-trip and road test on Jul 16. I nailed it. The only thing I missed on the pre-trip, was forgetting to check my horn. Road test I got 1 wrong for not getting out and checking the area behind the store before you back in. But I have orientation starting Aug 25 in Sanger. And Thank You Again, maybe I will run into you guys out on the road!
