Thanks for the info. I will keep you guys posted on the progress. If all goes well I hope to join the true "elite fleet". Pti has me a little concerned but I'm going to give it my best shot.

:biggrin_255::biggrin_255:Well I have not been on for a bit. Home for four days because I have finally received a full time truck bid. So back to a set schedule and working weekends again! Couldn't be happier!

A well qualified driver failed his road test by not being in the correct gear while making a turn from a stop light according to Walmart policy. True or false?

Really depends on the safety manager giving the test. As far as I know, no such policy exists.

Can anyone clear up something that I heard.Walmart gives you insurance the first day but no prescriptions for the first year? Also chime in on the deductibles..I saw its $1750 out of pocket before they pay 80%...I really have to have descent insurance

The wife here. It depends on the plan which is different depending on where you are at.

For us, everything has co-pays, including prescriptions. We have had prescription coverage since day 1. The only thing that I can remember that wasn't available since day 1 was major dentist work.................. which is not covered for a year. Regular stuff is from day 1 and all preventative is covered 100% with no copay. We have a $1500 deductible on our medical, but all copays apply from the beginning.

Talk to the HR person at the DC you are looking at, to see what plans they offer. We have the Health Net HMO, which I have been pleased with. Our sons surgery last summer only cost us $1800.

I chose an HMO from my local area and its awesome. $1,000 deductible, day one coverage, including prescriptions. $25.00 Co-pay. 80/20 for out of pocket. Better than Walmart company ins but even Walmarts is better than most others. Ask your hr person about available HMO plans for your area.

I recently asked my safety manager for a copy of the list that is used for the pre trip. He said that the company would not let it out, but if someone got the Virginia CDL book and studied the chapter on pre trip and knew it, they would not have any problem with the pre trip test. I don't know it that helps, but I hope so.
