wal~mart here I come!!!..... ran across this forum. very helpful. I started the process back in may, got call in June to ask for a phone interview in July which I passed, then had a date for the road test August 11. Was very nervous for the pre trip.... didn't know what to expect...just did one.... I guess I forgot to ask about the triangles...woops.... but that is about it..... road test went great!!... Sunday drive with a friend. Now just waiting for my hazmat from the TSA...yeah....:biggrin_2552: been driving local all over Florida for like 10 years.. done otr b4 this for a couple of years. Now from what I have read on here "we" (man that is awesome) have showers in the d.c. but what about washers and dryers? Well I figured this would be a good ice breaker.... just wanted to put it out there if you were thinking on coming over to wal~mart might be a goooooood idea.... from what I have seen so far.... I cant wait to get rolling!

No washers and dryers. But showers, for Walmart drivers ONLY...yes. Also most DC's have some snacks and maybe (like Tobyhanna) frozen pizza, hot pockets, dinners etc, to benefit the CMN. I just love the fact that I'll never go hungry, as not only do I stock my 12v cooler, but we are never far from a...Walmart! LOL. Food supply. Other benefits are most DC's have a fueler...he fuels your truck, check under the hood, tires, wash your windows and mirrors...you kinda get a little spoiled. Sounds like welcome aboard.

Congrats and welcome aboard! You only need a washer and dryer at your house because you will never be gone from home for more than 6 days tops! They want you to get your 34 at hike and then some depending on the program you are offered or bid on. Lots of pluses to come so sit back and take it all in for day one when it comes.

Guy's, a quick question - any idea on how long between the pre-trip/driving test and the CBC and previous employers parts take? I'm in that limbo stage where I've taken and passed the pre-trip/driving test, went and passed the physical/drug screen and now just waiting for the official word. Quick side note - after we got back from the road test, the safety manager asked if I "knew" any Walmart drivers, said it was one the best pre-trips he had ever seen. I couldn't let him know that I had been reading this post and getting advice from some of the best quys out there. I don't know if its been said enough, but there is NO WAY I could have gotten through this process without all the great Walmart private fleet drivers that have contributed to this post. If I do get on -fingers crossed - I would owe each of you steak dinners!!!
