Will see you soon, one way or another! :)

Kay gave me my choice of when to come. Since I will be working until about 10pm on Thursday, I chose 1:30pm to ensure I will not miss the interview should I be delayed getting back to Houston from Dallas. I should still have enough time to go to the clinic afterwards. I took Friday off from work, so I can be in Sealy all day if needed. :)

Small update while I have the chance. My trainer is an awesome guy, down to earth etc. Fast pace here, they use us from Tobyhanna (general merchandise) to run grocery loads for Pottsville which everyone complains about but I did it before for JB Hunt for a year on a dedicated Walmart account. Brings back good memories. Good to drive again but came down with a nasty cold or something (avoided getting sick all winter...) so I'll be co-pilot today, didn't sleep well last night. Today's last day of training then on my own. Hard to believe...still.

Glad it all sounds good Jim! Driving a daycab today until I get back, then I get a sleeper for a couple of days. Feels odd driving it after driving sleepers again. Lol

    Jim. Get well soon! :)

Today, the second interview was just as everyone described..... it was the conditional job offer. I was sent to the clinic nearby and passed the physical, took the drug screen, and submitted to the background check. Now, just have to wait a week or two to hear back. Kay in Sealy said I was one of only 3 who made it to the second interview. She said the orientation may end up starting on August 26th, but could be later. Kay also said the orientation needs to start at the beginning of the pay period (2 week pay cycles). That would mean that if the orientation does not occur on August 26th, it would be pushed ahead to September 9th.

In the home stretch now. Just a short while longer! :)

Jim, I will be starting in Toby very shortly. I did my drug test an physical over two weeks ago but I had to go back to the dc twice now and sign new paperwork. Once was for a new social security verification form that they started a week ago and then again this past Thursday for a new background form they started to use. Michelle said that there are three of us in the same boat with these new forms, fortunately for me I only live 15 minutes from the dc so I could just drive up, the others live farther so they have to be mailed for they need the originals. It is a good job I know a few drivers in Toby and Pottsville so I know first hand what it is all about. For me the first go around I was denied due to a incident I had not put down which was a small, very small non preventable. When Bentonville called they said the good news is I still qualify but had to reapply. That was a year ago and I brushed it off saying I will just stay put. Then Toby came up, and Toby almost never hires so I reapplied and got the call very quickly, June 21st was my 1st interview. Being I made it through the first time when I interviewed at Pottsville the second go around was much easier. It all worked out for the better Pottsville is over an hour from my house and Toby is just up the road. I should see you very soon. My name is Rob

Yes they want to start you on the beginning of a new pay week. This way you will have a full check after your orientation is done. Having patience is a blessing when being hired!

Well started off my week with supposed to have a truck all week. The driver was still out in it. So they placed me in a daycab for the day. Not too bad. Now getting ready for bed in a sleeper that I now can have for the rest of my week and sitting under a load I picked up today to go to OK! Great way to star my week! Good night!

Hi there Rob! I am at the same phase as you. I too had to do the new SS verification and background forms as well today. I was told by Kay the HR manager here at the Sealy, TX DC that I was the 2nd person to use the new forms.

    Congrats to you Rob! :)

Makes sense to me. Honestly, the waiting to go through the process really hasn't seemed all that long. It was on May 21st when I submitted the application, but the time has flown by so quick since. Just like Jim had said, once the process begins and you have the first interview, it really picks up speed quickly. The thread you started contains some great information that has been very helpful in laying out a road map for the process. Today, when I was on my way to Sealy, it felt pretty cool knowing I was going there to be offered the job! It was like opening up a Christmas present that you already knew you would like! :)

Sealy is running an ad online for drivers again. Only 3 came out of this batch of applicants per Kay.

Cool. That will make the work week go fast! I did look for you today when I arrived at Sealy. I was there about 12pm parked in the lot eating some lunch since I arrived very early. I guess I may have to wait until orientation to cross paths with you. :)

    Drive safe Matt! :)

Tom, the hardest part is the waiting game. We know we are in based on what we know about ourselves, I know I never had any run ins with the law. I can't wait to stop unloading freight. I also look forward to the possibility of being home every day. Toby has what they call day cab runs and there are a few still open. It is assigned tractors that 2 guys share, one does a 12 hour morning shift and one does a 12 hour night shift. I am only 33 years old and have two toddlers at home so I may take a home daily route, not sure yet. I do sleep better in the truck, no wife, kids, or dog that thinks he is human and sleeps on the bed to bother me and I do live close enough that if I make it back to the dc to break I can go home. Congrats to you as well.:biggrin_25519:
