When Rick was with his mentor, they got 2 rooms. They never slept in the truck.

As for loads, it depends on what is needed. Some weeks seem to be activity pay weeks, with low mileage. Some weeks are mileage weeks, with low activity. The nice thing is, you make money for all and it gives you different things to do.

(I was incorrect originally. That's what I get for posting when sick)

Whether you sleep in the truck or at a motel while with your mentor will vary from person to person. It will depend a lot on where you are at the end of the day. In my case, my mentor and I slept at a motel on the first 2 nights. On the 3rd night, I slept in the truck while parked at my home DC in Sealy and my mentor went home. Just bring a sleeping bag and pillow with you in case it is needed and you will be fine.

It all depends on how your mentor wants to do it. Mine slept in the hotel and I stayed in the truck. I mentored a new driver last week and did the same. I stayed in a hotel and he stayed in the truck. I'm not keen on sharing a room since I am a light sleeper. They should provide your mentors number to you and you can call him/her and find exactly how it will work. Meeting in person helps as well. Welcome aboard!

My mentor and I stayed in a hotel every night we were out. We always ended up near a hotel - some really nice and only 1 kinda crappy 1. We shared a room. No problems here.
