OK, that sounds reasonable! Furthermore, reflecting I don't believe that Smith Transport out of Roaring Springs would have hired him with a DOT-recordable offense, anyway, right?
Thanks again!!!
Walmart here I come!

I do not know for sure whether Smith or any other carrier would hire someone with a recent DOT Recordable accident on their record. Many carriers out here with triple digit turnover rates have been known to hire anyone who can fog up a mirror.
If your want to know if this is on Brian's record, along with any violations found during any inspections done on the road or at a weigh station, spend $10 and get a copy of his PSP report (Pre-Employment Screening Program) from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. You can get the report online instantly. Always good to do a check on your record before applying and/or interviewing for a new truck driving position. I would also recommend getting a 10 year driving history from your home state. This way there is no surprises on your record, especially if Brian's identity was ever compromised without his knowledge.

Ooooh, good point on the compromised identity stuff, Tom -- and thanks for the link, I'll do that right away!!!
Hey, is that the same thing as the DAC report? I know that I had to secure that Feb. 2013 for Smith.
This is how it reads on the DAC Report:
VIOL 02/08/2011 -- FAILURE TO KEEP IN PROPER LANE
LOCATION: MA=MASSACHUSETTS
COM VEH: Y
Misc Information: VIOL
Reference Number: xxxxxxxxxxxx
RSN/DHRStatute: 184
CDL Citation: Y -
No, DAC is employment history and MVR. The PSP report lists any violations, including ones that were only written warnings, for FMCSR violations received on the road. A DOT Recordable accident in the past 5 years would appear on the PSP report, but not necessarily appear on a DAC report or state MVR.

Thanks, Tom -- Just pulled up his PSP -- "No crash or inspection results found."
Yayyyyyy!!! Thanks so much for that, now we can rest easily knowing that we are not only clear, but that we told the truthTomOfTx Thanks this. -
That is great to hear! It confirms that the accident from 2011 was NOT listed as a DOT Recordable accident.
