Luv, there will be a lot of retirings happening in the next few years. The only thing you have to remember with Buckeye, is a lot of guys at other DC's want to work here. So, there will probably be quite a few transfers. However, I won't mind new guys coming in, as I will actually have some seniority. LOL (I actually have a little, because is more than one person has the same start day, it then goes in alphabetical order............. so I have seniority on 2. Woohoo)
Walmart here I come!

Tom, don't feel bad I am still waiting as well. I called Thursday and still nothing. Michelle did say it should be back in 8 days, Monday makes 8 full business days, it sucks we got stuck in the middle of this new paperwork. It does get discouraging at times, I started the process last week of May. It looks like this is 3-4 month process, hopefully it is all for the better in the end.
TomOfTx Thanks this. -
I won't complain. I thought the process was long but it was just three months for me, though it certainly seems longer while you're waiting! I applied April 6, first interview on May 22, and started July 15. You should be there very soon.
Well I'm heading home after my first week on my own. Was lucky to have had the same truck the whole week, wonder what next week brings. Hang in there guys, and enjoy the climb to the top of the roller coasters hill...cuz after training you hit full speed ahead and you're head will be spinning LOL. It's worth the wait. Hope to see you/meet you soon Rob. Already met John, (grabberblue) and you probably will too.TomOfTx Thanks this. -
Hi luv, glad this thread has helped you out, all the more reason on why I started it.
Jim, glad to hear your first week went very well! Keep up the good work and be safe bud!
Extreme, I only have two drivers under me currently and they just transfered in. As soon as Tom and the other two start, they will be under me as well. Finally I have my self on the bottom rung of the senority ladder!
Well it has been a very productive couple of days for me. Nothing under 500 miles for the past 3 days! Also we are adding to more trucks to our fleet that will be poasted as full time spots. I will be signing up for those as soon as they go up. My chances are looking good for getting on one soon! Night all.TomOfTx Thanks this. -

We need to find more drivers to put below us! LOL! -
You guys will move up in seniority much faster than me, as you DC actually hires fairly regularly.
Buckeye hardly ever hires. Oh well, I'm good where I'm at.
Oh, as I said before. Applied August 20th, started December 17th. The 4 month thing seems fairly common. -
Glad to see you all are catching on to the paperwork, dispatch, paperless logs, and the NaviGo. One of the things that most new drivers has a hard time doing is not being in that big hurry all of the time. Welcome to Walmart.

I'm on the bottom of the seniority pile, though I'm supposed to be above 13 others but they haven't shown up yet, lol. Toby is having a hard time finding the other 13 for whatever reason (except Rob, who is just waiting for the last call). Looking forward to having a LITTLE seniority, hopefully it'll count for something lol. Anyway, for the most part, I have no regrets and it's a great job, very easy, fast paced (at least at Toby) though laid back at the same time. Now I'm looking into finding a place to park my camper for those times when I don't want to, or can't, make the drive home, so I'll have a place to stay that is my 'home away from home'.
