Gwally57, I understand some of what you are saying. I am not doing it. If I am doing anything work related, my butt is On Duty. No reason for me to worry about hours on a 5 day work week. I heard a driver once say he was logging Off Duty when stopped at a traffic light. That is downright nuts to me!
Certainly cannot say I am a Kool Aid drinker. All you need to do is read posts of mine in the past 18 months to see that a lot of legal blood was spilled between me and Bentonville. I prevailed, so now I am moving forward and give 150% effort each day I am here working. I am satisfied with the pay offered for the work I do. It really is a good job, especially if you put in the effort to be more productive. No one here telling me to log Off Duty for any job duty. In fact, it has been the opposite.
Walmart here I come!

I got my conditional offer last Monday from Gas City, IN. About how long should it take me to hear back when I should start orientation? Thanks!
-
It all depends on how long it takes your previous employers to send back the info to the safety dept
-
Look at about 4 weeks

I logged onto the Walmart Associate Background Screening website and it still says in process. It's been 5 days, so I didn't know if it took that long or not to get a background check back.

/\/\/\ Not to worry, Emmit 23 -- no offense taken. There's not going to be a second job for Brian -- he definitely has all he can say Grace over right now! Besides, from what other drivers here have told me, WM does not allow that. But there are a number of reasons the prospect of so doing would be attractive -- albeit not do-able -- for us.
I don't work outside the home, Emmit -- we only have one vehicle, which Brian has to take to commute roughly three hours to Raymond, NH. The little public transit system that we have here does not service our area. Besides, we have my elderly mother living with us, and I really don't feel that I can leave her alone for any length of time. We have a 160-pound, ailing, older-than-dirt Labrador Retriever that Mom cannot manage without me here, and he is becoming needier and needier. Even when we don't have him (we won't for much longer), I worry about leaving my mother home alone all day.
I'm not whining, but even though Brian is being paid *VERY* well, it's tough making ends meet. He is still paying child support, which is a heavy burden without a second income. Adding his two kids to our insurance and paying for one's braces and the other's upcoming colonoscopy add even more financial hardships. Further, we live in Connecticut -- one of the top three (3) expensive states to live in.
So maybe you can tell by our particular situation why Brian would consider extra income. But we understand that it's a no-no, and he needs some time at home, anyway
It turns out that he's pretty busy on his days off, anyway. Until now, Brian only had visitation on Sundays, and we were worried about that since he will no longer have traditional weekends off. But it's working out that he is able to pick his 15-year-old up after school and do this or that with him, then take him to dinner. So while it's not an entire day, it's better than nothing at all and it's looking pretty good. Brian comes home Tuesday nights, takes me out to dinner and dancing Wednesday nights, and calls it an early evening for he and Zack on Thursdays.
