I can't stand it anymore! I want to work for Walmart, I neeeeed to work for Walmart, but I never see a dc hiring near me. Should I just put in for one that's hiring anywhere and go from there? I'm in Spartanburg, SC and there are 3 that are near me, I don't know if I'm missing the email postings for them or what.

You sound a lot like me I had been applying to my local DC for 3 years straight, my app kept getting declined so I said enough is enough and applied to the max # of dc's you can (10) at once, including my local DC. Well guess what they all start calling me for the first time and I had to decline 7 dc's until my local DC FINALLY called! So I say apply to at least 5 you wouldn't mind driving for, for at least a year then try to transfer.

hey to all the drivers out there. have not been over here in a while so I just wanted to check in.... man a lot has gone on. first I would like to say welcome aboard to all the new drivers. just a few thoughts for those drivers that want to come and work for Walmart or just started with us. I have been here for 6 months plus and time has gone by fast. each week I work until my 70 is almost out. usually that is around 5 1/2 days. I still slip seat....yucko... 2 trucks a week some times 3 .....and have even done it 4 times, just depends on how many tractors are in the shop. we are not as lucky as say sanger ....lol where they have a lot of tractors sitting around... new ones waiting to go into service..... was over there like 2 weeks ago and saw 3 new petes waiting to go... they are nice! I was driving a 06 pete with 620 thousand miles on it...lol. anyways just a few more words that might help out the NEW drivers, I use a big army duffle bag (54") to hold a comforter, sheets and a couple of pillows. I also have a plastic tote box that fits inside and it holds my cereal, soup, a bowl, fork, spoon etc. this really helps when you have to move from truck to truck. all the tractors have a sleeper door so that is nice. then I use a 26 qt. iceless cooler ordered from igloo thru Walmart.com and a small carry on luggage for my clothes. 3 main things to move. makes it fast and easy. I see drivers take 45 min. to move there stuff.... then they have to wash and clean out the tractor another 45 min. no miles that way.... any ways sorry for the rambling... please forgive me... just one last thing.... Apply at least to 5 different d.cs. if one not near you.( I live in Fl. and work in La. 770 miles from home.) I applied to 5 Sealy, Searcy, Sanger, New Brunffels, and Opelousas..... that's how bad I wanted to get onto Walmart... might just show somebody else how bad you want to get on... just saying. 2nd best decision I have made (I married my wife of 15 years)... anyways thank you for letting me ramble and I will check back in more often now to see if I can help out with the new drivers....peace and love to all!

South Carolina rarely hires.... I can't recall seeing them on the list. Your best bet is to apply in NC/VA, work there until a transfer comes thru. We had a guy from Georgia work his year out here, then transferred back to GA.

Seems they are going to fix the pluming problems at those five locations. 6 months is a long time for a complete re-pipe of a store but I guess that's what they will be doing including breaking foundation.

watch a pre trip video some where...maybe youtube... I used "mounted and secured" on everything... check dvir book, permit book, and the trailer reg. for sure.... also g.o.a.l. that is a Big thing on the road test.... don't hit no curbs and listen to safety guy.... he walks you thru everthing... oh and from I understand stay ingear and be in control of the tractor.... don't glide down the off ramp or into a stop sign.... you will be fine... good luck
