A little advice, better to let them know about it up front, then to have them find it later. They might interpret that as being dishonest. I had a run in at a bar with some cowboys in 1985 before I even knew what a truck was. They asked me about it!!!! But I was smart enough to list it on the app!!!! Better safe than sorry!!

Hey Matt, how ya been? Can you believe how fast the time has gone by? And how long your thread has gotten! It's gotta be the longest one on this forum...at least from what I can tell.

Definitely still loving it, on a new program now (5/2 5/3), will be a big pay boost, still give me weekends occasionally, and increase the ol' ADP. No regrets here, still pinch myself now and then!

Agreed. When Walmart looks into your background, they not only make sure what you DID tell them is true, but they also look for anything you DIDN'T tell them. You could always ask the HR person who'll contact you for the interview or whatever they do now, and you (used to at least) have an opportunity to 'correct' anything on your original application.

/\/\/\ NYVET, they still let you look your completed app over one last time at Orientation -- Brian got to do that in February, Raymond DC.

    Hey Jim!!!! :)

Good to see you!!!! I was just talking to Matt at the DC last Thursday asking him if he heard from you at all. Glad you are doing well my friend!

I have been back from LOA since March 2nd. After the first few days back, it felt like I was never gone. There is truth to the words "absence makes the heart grow fonder!". The love I have for Walmart and the Private Fleet has actually become much deeper now, even more than how I felt in the beginning when I was hired. This is where I belong and if I was not going to be here driving, I would likely just retire from trucking as there is no comparison that could ever satisfy me like working here does at present. Anyone on the outside really has to work here to fully understand how much different being a part of the Private Fleet really is in relation to other transportation companies.

/\/\/\ Heyyyyy, TomOfTx !!! Good seeing you, Friend :)

Brian is still getting his sea-legs so to speak. He's getting so much better, though -- I think he's beginning to find his rhythm. He is making far fewer mistakes and is getting some serious miles in every day, even on the rare occasions when he may get held up for one reason or another. He is really working soooooo hard to get this thing and become as efficient as he possibly can -- he's really dedicated.

Anyway, glad to see you again!

Practice makes perfect! Make sure Brian is not shy about asking questions as often as necessary. His coordinator, other drivers around the DC, and even us here on the forum can assist as much as needed. Keep safety at the forefront of everything he does and he will be fine. Now that the weather is improving and getting warmer up there, he will have a great summer to look forward to! This job is fun and rewarding! :)

Glad you both are doing well! :)

Did you bid for the 5/2 5/3? You were on a 6/3 before if I'm not mistaken. Its a good program, slower rotation. I was on it for about 4 months and had struggled to get over 2000 miles. Got handed a lot of peddle loads. Good ADP, but not so good miles. Also just listened to the message on the OBC yesterday about our fleet trucks coming in. Looks like we will be getting some 579 Peterbilts in our region. I'm looking forward to driving one eventually. They are sharp looking trucks!
