For the most part, they try to get a group together for orientation. Once you have competitive, they are just waiting for others going through the process, to have all their stuff come back. Once all the applicants that have passed the backgrounds and screenings, they will call to make a final and possible start date. Again, this can take some time as they do try to build a class for each location. Sometimes it's just one, other times its 10. Just be patient and don't rush it. Good things come to those who wait.

I just wanted to give an update on my experience thus far at Walmart. I started orientation 5/18 and so far my journey has been remarkably great. I'm a Saturday 8am out. Well should I say I was a Saturday 8 am out. I signed up for the 5-2 5-3 and I thought no way was I going to get it seeing as how I just started. There were four people in my orientation class, but only one before me according to alphabetical order. It was confirmed today that I have the 5-2 5-3 program. I'm elated!! So far I've been out three weeks by myself since going out the first week with the Mentor. She is on a 4/4 program and she had never trained but she did a great job. I'm the third woman at our DC. The first and second week I had to slip between two tractors. The third week was the first week that I had the tractor the whole week and I could see a difference in how far I was pushed out compared to shorter runs in the Chicago land area. So know learning that I'm in a program I couldn't be any more happy. The people are great. The drivers are all so helpful. The experience is so different from any driving job I've had. The environment is totally positive and I'm loving it. I was really nervous to leave my last employer (Jb hunt) because we as humans fear the unknown. And although it's still very early in the game I feel that I've made one of the best decisions of my life by taking this job. My DC (6092) have a lot of drivers retiring. We have an excellent staff from the gtm, to the driver coordinators, to the shop!! Who would have thought you could get on a program in just a little over a month. WOW!
