Go ahead apply now. It will be well after September 6th before Walmart would call you anyway. They do not run a check of your MVR until after the first interview and you sign a release to do so. Nothing on the application is verified until then as well since you have to be there to sign the copy of the application you filled out online.
Walmart here I come!

Tom, I am still waiting for the last check to come back, the credit check. It should be back by Monday, I am hoping for tomorrow. If all is good they said orientation will be the 9th of Sept. This new system they are using sucks, Jim you are so lucky to have snuck through under the old.
mje Thanks this. -
thanks for the info!! im glad you guys are on here to help us newbies work through this process . been very helpful

Good news and bad news. The bad news first.... I will be at the bottom of the seniority list since my last name starts with a "W" and my two classmates start with a "G" and "L". The good news is I will not have to share a room in Sealy next week. "G" and "L" get to bunk up together! King bed at the Holiday Inn all to myself! LOL!

Kay sent me orientation schedule today. Looks like a lot of good stuff to be squeezed into the only 4 day orientation!

Rob, I think with the change of the HR person there and the new system didn't help you. I actually hoped my orientation would have been held off until September 9th. I would have had Labor Day off and home on the weekend of September 15 for my wedding anniversary. Would have been nice, but this job with Walmart is bigger than a few days of fun. I will just have fun on the days I have off the next 3 weekends instead.
I hope you get squared away soon. Jim needs some fresh meat below him! LOL!

You are welcome! Just keep coming back to share your experience with everyone else. I was helped greatly by this thread. The advance knowledge of the normal delay time between each step of the process made it easier to deal with.

The good news is, by working the holiday, you will have the choice of deferring it as a paid day off for a later date, or taking the pay for it. ADP will be lower, since you are not driving yet, but deferring the holiday is great, as you will start with a paid day off available. I never in a million years thought that I would be taking a vacation 6 months into starting a new job. That is WAY cool.
Had my distracted driving class. No biggie on the phone thing. It was exactly as we already knew. Some very interesting statistics, however, from my DC. Our GTM is working on having more 6/2 shifts, as there are more hours available on 70's due to the 30 min break thing. I would LOVE to have a 6/2. Anyway, break is over, so off I go. Son had minor surgery today, so it has been a bit stressful. Everyone have a great week/ weekend!! Mruffin, sounds like you are good to go. Just practice patience. LOL -
Thanks!! I can handle the wait now that I know how long it will be . When they say 5/2 or 6/2 is that 2 full days off or just your 34 reset off ?
-
2 full days.

Nice!! I like the defer holiday pay too. Gets better better the more I hear. Right now there's just hermiston Oregon and Sutherland Virginia. That's newly posted. Anybody know anything about those two ?
