What was your experience like if you don't mind me asking?

 

So far, so good. The process has been taking approximately a month and a half since first applying. I went Oct. 27 for my road test/physical. They said it would be up to 2 weeks for the checks and up to a month waiting for the response from my current company. Then I would get a final offer.

 

Seems typical, I received a call October 22nd an hour after I submitted my app and was set up for the phone interview for the next day. The 23rd did the formal interview and the next Monday Pottsville called and gave me my road test date November 10th. I'll admit when I arrived I was pretty nervous and it was intimidating and yet all very exciting.The possibility itself was pretty intense to say the least.

 

Thank you for sharing your experience. Your response from them was quick. They seem to do a good job of trying to put you at ease going through everything.

My biggest thing I need to talk to them more about, is insurance and cost. Where I'm currently at, its pretty good insurance and the rates aren't too bad, considering other places. I'm looking at giving up nearly 11 years here and a fairly decent hourly wage. But the future of my job is getting very shaky.

 

Agreed, my insurance is paid in full by the Teamsters and it's a Cadillac plan and I've only been here at this job 4 months. I took this job as a stepping stone from my prior company doing oversized 7 days a week so while I'm hee I can still make a good living and look for something more in the area of driving than delivering gasoline to multiple gas tanks in a single axle straight truck. That being said I feel your concern. There is a lot to consider

 

Congratulations Smoker. The waiting can be nerve wrecking if your process takes a while. I'm finally starting orientation tomorrow and I began by applying in May then I had my phone interview in July my pre trip/road test was in September and finally I start tomorrow. I can't wait!!!
