Good thing I only live in an apartment or that'd be another hobby I'd dump a bunch of money into!

I'm with both you guys I work as a volunteer at the Wilmington and Western railroad in Wilmington Delaware. We're finishing up or 1472 day inspection and restoration of engine 58 an 0-6-0 steam locomotive built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1907.

Thats awesome Joeyd!, man i would love the opportunity to be that up close and personal with being a part of restoring a 100+ year old steam locomotive. I know union pacific is in the process of restoring one of the last remaining "Big Boy's" #4014 , (4-8-8-4) from WWII, that ol' girl weighs just shy of a million pounds and was one of the backbones of moving the US war machine to the docks for shipping overseas. If these old steam engines could only tell stories!

Omg how about it Rick that would be a conversation! I have been seeing pictures of old Big Boy that really is the beast to end ALL beats isn't it though? My wife and just went on an excursion on the Fort Wayne's famous Nickel Plate Road Berkshire 765. Man what a beauty she was. We went from Allentown to just south of Scranton she weighs in with a full tender at just over 800,000 lbs. What a beauty to see that old girl roll up over the mountain!
