Hey guys im dustin, figured I'd introduce myself in this thread. I just completed my RT/PT Friday in Palestine, TX. Wow!! do they have some great people working at that DC. Everyone was very very nice and made me feel at home even before i actually have a job.
I was kinda nervous on the Road test. First time driving a pete period (386 style)with a brake pedal (gas style) lol.. have not drove a manual tranny in almost 3 yrs have not pulled a van in almost 4yrs. Don't back up very much in fuel hauling.
As I sat in the dispatch and manager room, I watched drivers come in and out and I didn't see one without a smile on their face!! Im sure there are some bad days, but After talking to transportation manager he put my mind at ease with a lot of the questions I had. I just sent my email in for background check to get sent.
If I get an offer, I think I'm gonna give up my home everyday job. It makes me nervous considering I made really good money there, but I think walmart is the better job in the long run and even if i don't make as much money. The people and the schedule seem worth it

 

Gave up my home everyday fuel hauling job to come here, I do miss my wife and kids but this is the job I knew would provide for us and there's 0 pressure here plenty of time to make your delivery.

 

is downtime paid just like ut? Woke up to an electrical issue this am shop said could be a while considering it's Sunday am before 7

 

Yes, go on it asap. Worst case, let them know, write the start time and enter the end down time.

 

I live 50 miles closer one way is why I'm looking at going to Cullman. Not sure I'm going just checking it out

 

Hey guys im new on here to this thread. I completed my phone interview on this past friday i passed it the guy told me id get a phone call in about 2 weeks to do my other interview plus my pretrip and road test. Well they called me 3 hrs after i got done with my phone interview to set up my pt and rt so im going in on thursday at 7am to do everything now. The lady i spoke with said it will probaly take a good part of the day to complete everything which is fine with me . And the reason she said she called me so fast is cause of the holidays coming up and they want to get it all done. Can anyone give me some insight on what to expect on thursday . It will be out of the Bentonville ar DC.
