I am happy to report that my process of being hired was completed today around 5pm, got the final call, all is good, and I start Sept. 9th at 8am. It has been a long drawn out process and we have reached the end. Thanks to the many of you that posted much needed information. I have friends that currently drive for Walmart but they could not share too much about the hiring process for they have been with Walmart for many years and the hiring is much different now. For those of you who are waiting for interviews be honest and be yourself. Just because you may have something on your mvr will not disqualify you, but you must be up front about it. Another big thing is the pre-trip, know the truck and know how to talk about what you are seeing, remember to check the legal paperwork and the federal inspection stickers. Progressive shifting will also show them you are fuel minded. If anyone has questions I will be happy to help you any way I can. Thanks Tom and Jim for keeping my spirits up during this long process, now let the real fun begin.

    Rob,

Big hearty congratulations! I just spent my first day today in orientation. I see now why drivers do not leave here. The culture of safety and fellowship is incredible! You will feel it on your first day. It is wonderful!

Congratulations again Rob. You will be here in just a short 13 days! :)

I got to see Matt (drozzer69) today. Glad you stopped by. You looked really sharp in uniform!

Welcome Rob, congrats!! Long time coming. I will pop in for an intro sometime during the first 3 days of your orientation, which will be my last 3 days before my 3 days off LOL. Look forward to meeting you. The last guy hired in Toby was, I believe, 9 MONTHS ago. Definitely a different hiring process compared to most companies who'll hire you over the phone. See you soon.

Congrats to Rob on getting through the process. Now the anticipation can commence !!!

Tom, now you see what we were all talking about. Welcome aboard, and many years happy motoring !!

We had an interesting situation at Buckeye, on my Friday (Tues). We had a bad monsoon storm come through Buckeye and it knocked out all of the power. There was at least 1 trailer that I saw laying on its side. All the "street" signs in the yard were blown over. Even after the power came back up, they had to shut the DC down and shut down the drivers for the night (those who weren't already running loads). They had no computers and no phones. I had to be reset by Apple Valley. I will tell you something, a DC with no light is one dark place. I had a hell of a time backing my trailer in in the pitch blackness.

Anyway, it made for an interesting experience.

Corey went back to school today. I hope he does well. He was real anxious to go back, as he loves school.

Sounds like you need more work lights on the trucks out there. At least you are all ok. I was extended in to today and will be again next week as well. Good for me cause of the extra $, bad cause of the shortened home time. Either way its only for another week. Had a couple of days where we go some rain as well. No monsoons thank goodness. It did cool things off for a couple of days too and we are right back to hot again. Any way I am gonna enjoy my time with the fam. Later all!
