Walmart here I come!

Got a phone call today from the Mt. Pleasant, IA dc. I got my pre-trip and driving tests on the 14th of next month! Woo! Can't wait. If there are any current WM drivers who could give me some pointers it would be greatly appreciated.

 

don't over think the backing between trailers.... you have plenty of tries, if needed, slide the tandems back. Most everything you can think has been covered many times over.

 

How much $$$ should I bring home on my first check with being in class the first week just wondering so I can budget my money

 

Just do what you should be doing every day. They give you around 35 minutes to do it in.

 

I did my pretrip in about 20 mins and i would have got a 100 percent on it he said but i forgot 1 item . So i got a 99 percent. The guy told me in the yrs hes been giving the test hes never gave anyone a 100 on the pretrip but i got close to it tho. And the road test was about 30 mins or so and we just mainly talked back and fourth the whole time . And when your backing up there at the dc remember to G.O.A.L. .

Ok now that's it's 100% official I would like to thank drozzer69 for starting this thread and also thanks to everyone else that has given advice and thoughts on joining Walmart. I posted a few weeks ago about getting this unexpected phone call and was against the wall of quitting my job that I was completely happy with in order to chase this opportunity. After reading the entire thread I chose to roll the dice and I will be in orientation on Jan 11th at 6801 Bentonvile. Thanks again to everyone.
